Ms. Whoo- Is "God Help the Outcast" your favourite song? From that movie, absolutely. It is so powerful to me. It is defiantly one of my favorite all time Disney songs as well... but not the first I don't think.

God Help The Outcasts is definitely one of my all-time favorite Disney songs. It's so powerful and humbling! Esmeralda's singing voice actress did a tremendous job with such a powerful song.

I really enjoyed this movie back when it first came out - however, I was always mad that Quasimodo didn't get Esmeralda in the first film. It just felt like because he was ugly he couldn't get the really pretty girl you know. Sure, they tried to make up with it in THoNDII I guess, but even still Most Disney characters always seem to get who they like. So watching the scene where Quasi get's all heart broken just kills me! D;
Other than that the movie is amazing. I love all the characters and the music score. <3

I am kinda glad he did not get the girl. I have never see the 2nd one, but to be honest it is more realistic that way. Also more unexpected.
And in the original novel she did not love him either, although the ending was vastly different.

Don't watch the sequel! They disgraced the orginal film.
I agree with Ms.Whoo. I felt more sympathy for Quasi because he doesn't find romance. It's a little like The Phantom of the Opera.
However it worth noting he does have a happy ending. He has his freedom and his whole life ahead of him. Esmeralda and Pheobus will always be there to offer their friendship. That's another thing I loved about the conclusion. We can imiagine how his life will evolve.
I just pretend the sequel does not exist.

I just pretend the sequel does not exist. That is a very good way to handle it. he sequel was just down right terrible for me. Even the music was awful. D;

Kerbobbled- The only good thing about the sequel was Tom Hulce's singing. Nothing can compare though to what he did with "Out There" and Heaven's Light"! I still cry when I hear those songs. Truly one of the best actors/singers I've ever heard.

Yeah, from the looks of it I should not bother with the sequel. I like how they left the ending in the first one and I don't want the sequel to cloud that.
But out of curiosity, did they try to make romance between Esmerelda and Quasi in it?

No they did not. They have a brotehr and sister type of relationship. He and Pheobus are buddies.

That is good. I couldn't deal with it if they went that route.

Was the singing and regular speaking of her character voiced by different people? Yes. I believe Demi Moore was her speaking role. I can't, for the life of me, remember who the singing voice was. I'll go check. Edit: It was a woman named Heidi Mollenhauer, who apparently has never done anything else production-wise. A voice like that should be featured in other projects!

I saw the strangest thing the other month. (Though I just of it recently) While I love this movie to pieces, I always felt it should have been rated PG for it's darkness and intesity.
Both The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Enchated were on television. Enchanted recieved a PG-TV rating while THOND remained at TV-G. How weird is that?!
