I really, really enjoy both the songs and the musical score from this film. And the animation is beautiful. It's such a complex story with some well rounded characters. Yet for some reason, the movie doesn't quite achieve classic status for me. Part of me wonders if it's because it doesn't quite fit with what I expect from a Disney animated film, but at the same time, I think that's a silly reason to not grant it classic status in my own mind. After all, some of my favorite Disney films are departures, and sometimes radical ones from their predecessors.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame celebrated it's 19th anniversary on June 21st.
I LOVE this film! I'm so thankful for Disney adapting this from the Victor Hugo classic novel.
"So here is a riddle to guess if you can sing the bells of Notre Dame. Who is the monster and who is the man?"

Double post. From being a film I watched the least as a child due to it's intesity to becoming my Favorite Disney film of all! My how the tables do turn. I will most certainly have this film featured on my Tumblr. Especially when it's 20th Anniversary comes around.
