The Little Mermaid is coming to theatres this fall in 3D. Now I'm not so excited about the 3D aspect but I still want to see this in the theatre as it is my favourite Disney movie of all time and I want to relive the same magic I felt as a kid

Perhaps they should of just digitally re-mastered it and then put it in theatres? It kinda bums me out that it's going to be in 3D... Yes, I understand that they are trying to suck up all the money they can get by bringing it back for our generation and making it appealing to the younger ones... But sheesh... However... I guess I'm with Sarah in saying I'll go. After all, it's my namesake. My movie. And since I was born less than a year too late, I will go to say I've been.

I really hope the option for regular format is available for this. I will go see this regardless but I would much prefer it without 3-D. I love all the movies from the Second Classic Period so I will not miss the opperunity to see them in the Cinema. The 3-D is not terrible. The ctreative teams do put in an effort. You can clearly see though they tampered with the film. Since they were not made in the 3-D proccess orginally (Like How to Train Your Dragon or Toy Story 3) it can feel un-natural.
The stories and their music do make it worth putting those sun-glasses on. Like Arielle said however. Have the option for both 3-D and regular format. The Lion King made more money because Disney offered this. Beauty and the Beast didn't even make half becuase there was hardly any movie theatres showing it the old fashion way.

People are more likely to take their children to a non 3D movie because it is less expensive. Who wants to take a family of 5 to the movies and pay twice as much for a ticket.

I'm with you, Sarah! Me and my fiancé when and saw one and it was like $30 (American currency) for the both of us. Which is actually a little over double what we normally pay. We splurged, yes. But if I had kids, I most certainly wouldn't of paid to take them to that. No middle class family can afford to do that all the time!!!

I'm extremely excited for this! Watching The Lion King in the cinema again was such a perfect experience, and I'm looking forward to replicating that with The Little Mermaid!

I'll go see it if they have a non-3D version of it. 3-D gives me an awful headache. D;

I don't think I'll watch this, especially if it's offered in only 3D format. I can't watch 3D, literally.
Although, the chance to see Ursula on the big screen is very enticing. And hearing Poor Unfortunate Souls in surround sound would be amazing!

I'm interested to hear how the 3-D is on this. I enjoyed the 3-D experience of Beauty and the Beast, but the 3-D experience of The Lion King was a letdown. September is usually a very difficult month for me to make it to the movies, so I may not get a chance to see this as much as I'd like to.

Has there been an official release date for this film yet? If so, please tell me! I literally want to go on the day that it opens. Yes I love this movie that much.

I'll see this no matter what. I loved all the previous Disney movies in 3D simply because I never got a chance to see them when they were first released. Looking forward to yet another release.

While I continue to hear rumors on the 3-D re-release of this film. I cano find anything concrete. What has been confirmed is the Blu-ray release in October. It will be part of the Diamond Blu-ray collection. No word on the special features but I'll let everybody know as soon I as find out.
