Honestly, the blu-ray bonus features were seriously lacking for Tangled. Disney's been skimping in that area lately with many films including the old classics.

I bought the DVD/Blu-ray combo just because I wanted to see deleted scenes and stuff like that, but I was kind of dissapointed in what was included. I know that there is a second Reprise to When Will my Life Begin, but it wasn't even there. Meh. Oh well, I'm glad I have it You know Blu-ray is starting to piss me off. These days the extras of a movie are being put on the blu-ray version only. Like when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1 came out it was said to have a scene from the second part but of course, blu-ray combo pack only. I not having a blu-ray player have no use for blu-ray. So my mom and I missed out on that. That's screwed up. Plus the player sucks seemingly. My aunt's freezes when trying to play a regular DVD although it's supposed to have the capability. I don't even understand how it is supposed to be so superior to DVDs.

Picture and sound quality. The blu-ray format is in high definition while DVD is standard definition. There's a clarity in blu-ray that's missing in DVDs. Because a lot of blu-ray players are capable of upconverting regular DVDs to near HD quality, it's not as apparent.
Blu-ray also has 6 times the storage capacity so the discs can hold a lot more information. I wish that Disney would really take advantage of this capacity and put out great bonus features on more blu-ray releases.
Blu-ray players and HD TV sets are really starting to come down in price, so I think it's only a matter of time before the studios stop selling DVDs altogether.

Well that's going to suck Blu ray disks are quite a bit more expensive which is one reason I am glad to be a DVD only household. XP

We had a Blu-Ray player, but you have to keep updating it, and then it breaks down when you do so. That was our experience. We're upset. We will eventually get another. We'll have to when Disney forces us.

//Butts in on the blu-ray discussion. I've never had a blu-ray, I've never watched a blu-ray and I don't think I'll ever use a blu ray! I think it's an unneeded technology - I think the next step will be purely digitialized (like memory stick) media, or downloadable movies like on the x-box and PS3. Another format of disc totally isn't necessary!
And back to Tangled - guhh watched this on TV the other day, not the first time I've seen it - but first time in a few months. I love how we are getting new princesses nowadays! Also so excited for the marriage clip they're releasing soon!
I've never been a fan of 3D / CGl animation, but I guess it's one of those things we're going to just have to get used to as it doesn't seem to be going away. But what REALLY bugs me is just the way in which Rapunzel looks so.. doll like, with the massive eyes and such, yet everyone else is pretty human-y. Her big head and big eyes totally don't fit in with the other princesses - my advent calander this year has her, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Cinderella and Rapunzel jus looks ridiculous against the rest of them, even with the attempt at making her look 2D. I didn't initially want to watch Tangled as it was a "eugh, using the Rapunzel story? Come on Disney - make something new" but I was pleasantly suprised with the changes they made and the cuteness of the story and now, everytime I see the movie my want to cosplay Rapunzel totally increases!

To be honest, I wasn't really a big fan. I've seen it a couple times, so maybe that's why. Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy it, but it's not as 'memorable' as most of them are. I'm not even sure what about it was 'forgetable' either, but it did have some funny parts. Animals without the ability to talk have always been a favorite for me. Such as Crikee and Kahn in Mulan. I loved Pascal's expressions. Hilarious.
I kinda felt that the songs were a let down, even with Mandy's amazing singing. They were a bit too theatrical and cheesy for me, I think. I was expecting a 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' type song for the villain song. 'Mother Knows Best' reminded me more of Marina Del Ray's 'Just One Mistake'.

I think I've watched Tangled around 30 times since it came out on DVD last year (as you can probably tell it's my fave Disney Princess movie of all time, lol!)

So I recorded this a few months ago when it come on the Disney Channel.
Loved it!
Pascal was above all my favorite character. Although he had no voice, he was super cute and played such a major role in the development of the plot.
I really enjoyed the songs Mother Knows Best and I Have A Dream. Both were great musical numbers with awesome footage.
The plot was really well played and original. A nice twist on the original Rapunzel fairy tale.

Laughed at my previous post. My opinion has slightly changed. I've watched it more times and can appreciate it a bit more. I do like this movie but it doesn't capture my attention from beginning to end like most Disney movies too. And the inconsistency with the length of Rapunzel's hair irks me every time I watch, lol.

That's true. Another thing that annoyed me in the movie was when Flynn cut Rapunzel's hair and Mother Gothel aged so fast If it had to do with the power source being destroyed, that doesn't make sense because of what happens in the end. Also, Flynn's hand stays in tact when he hurt it earlier in the movie.

Also, Flynn's hand stays in tact when he hurt it earlier in the movie. I figured it had something to do with how many times Gothel used Rapunzel's magic. She magically extended her lifeline long beyond that of a normal human whereas: Flynn's hand being healed and his being brought back to life where one-time deals

That makes sense. She does tend to age quite quickly after singing with Rapunzel.
