if that was true than one of her sisters should have taken responibility and told her when she was older or even Triton himself. It could even have happened before her sisters were born, or very young. Triton is really quite old in the movie. The events leading to Ursula's defeat and banishment could have happened in Triton's youth, before he married and had mer-babies.

if that were the case than thats way too early to be explained in this movie as its not THAT far a prequal. Unless however they make it like some(one example being Kronk's New Groove) and have the whole movie just be a series of little stories which I was never a fan of those kind of movies with Piglet's Big Movie as the one exception. But still.

The only trailer I've seen just shows Ariel listening to Sebastion play music. We have no idea what it's about, other than rumors. Most of this thread is rumors and speculation

Yeah Disney always does that when the movie is not due for a long while the only trailers they release are ones that tell us nothing which is often misleading. I know it caused me to misjudge a lot of movies including Ratatioulle.

The only way we will know for sure what is happening with this film is when we start seeing release commercials.

It sounds like a good movie, then again, I love musicals, even Disney ones, and I've heard that that's what this is supposed to be. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'd like to see it. L.G.

Me neither but I heard it can be. Although I am sure its not nearly at Wikipedia's level. I hate to say it but her mom makes me curious too especially if the suspicions are correct and Sally Field is providing the voice. I love her so I will netflix this film for her if anything.

I hope you're right Shenzi. I've never known IMDB to be wrong. Wikipedia yes, IMDB no. IMDB is usually pretty accurate when it comes to movies that have already been released, but when it comes to upcoming films, IMDB can have inaccurate information(as can Wikipedia) because it may be complete speculation and/or internet rumor. Release dates especially can be a tricky thing. The interesting thing with TLM III is that we don't know what (if any) changes were made to this storyline after John Lasseter came to Disney. Since the film was one of the few sequels to survive Lasster(and I'm quite happy that he cancelled almot all the sequels), I think it's safe to say it had at least a decent storyline. What that story was about, I don't really know since all we really have to go on is the preview that Disney included with the DVD release. Now, as I think we're long past the originally planned release, I suspect that some changes were made to the story. And for the record, everything I said about this film is pure speculation and guesswork on my part. If I'm right, it means I guessed well or lucky if you prefer.

Ehhh... I thought it was bad when Disney began getting into the routine of making sequels, but now their new thing is apparently adding on one more! I was absolutely appalled after watching Cinderella II, and I almost cried after watching the third. And it's even worse with the Little Mermaid because it's one of my all time favorite Disney movies. It's one of the classics!! It's kind of like the Lion King, it started with Mufassa and Sarabi, then it ended with Simba and Nala ruling the Pride. When the second was released you just knew it was going to be Kiara and Kovu. With the Little Mermaid, Ariel longed to join the human world, so it was sort of obvious her daughter, Melody, would want to be apart of the mer world.
I know the third Little Mermaid is a sort of prequel to the first, but I still don't see it turning out well. Nothing can top the original, and they shouldn't try to. It was a magnificent movie, now let's move on to something different instead of relying on previous films. That's why to me, Enchanted was so refreshing. Finally a new movie not involving previous characters. But hey, I don't want to be a negative person, because I am a very faithful Disney fan through all of the movies they have released. I'll always be the kind of person who likes to sort of live in the past, with the classic Disney animation and rich, original, creative stories that has kept us interested all these years.

I believe there are a great number of faithful Disney fans who hate the sequels. The very reason most of them were cancelled is because John Lasseter is a huge Disney fan who hated the sequels and thought they were doing tremendous harm to the company.

when i heard that there was going to be a LM3 i was shocked i wasnt quite sure what they would base it on, i had an idea that it might be more towards melody an how things went down after she destrroys the wall b/c in the preview i saw the necklace you see sinking is the same (or it looks like the same im pretty sure it is) anyways i looked it up on google in i found two things about it one says the movies name is TLM3: Ariel's Melody and the other one calls it TLM3: Ariel's beggining. the one called Ariel's melody i got from a script and the script does kind of fit the preview i saw with the storm and the ship and the necklace so im pretty sure that one is right and i f i am right then tlm3 is going to be about an older version of melody which doesnt sound half bad but i could be wrong so i guess we could just waite till the movie comes out sometime this year. wontgetlost.com/SPf2.htm (script) www.imdb.com/title/tt0969647/(info)

So whats the deal with this film. I have not seen a single commercial since hearing of this film, nor have I heard any information on a release date. Before you say it IMDB is not always reliable when it comes to films yet to be released.
So does anyone know when this movie is coming out? Is it even coming out, we have been exchanging information and opinions for a long time and nothing has happened.
