I love Enchanted, I thought it was great to finally see great Disney movie in a while, I was disappointed with the lack of animation in the film. I loved Amy Adams though, who proved to be a worthy house hold name! I thought the villian was practically Maleficent and Queen Grimhilde from Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. But none the less I love this movie. But I really can't wait for the Frog Princess and Rapunzel. I noticed alot of references though, like: The apple Giselle is offered. The happy working song: Whistle While you Work. Part of Your World playing at Sam's office. Narissa's dragon form.

I watched this last night and liked it much better upon second viewing. I still don't know if I'll be buying it though.

I've heard a lot of good things about this film from those who have seen it and I am thinking of buying it after payday.
If I don't buy it I'll definately rent it.

Oh my gosh, it is so worth it! Even if you rent it, and if you don't buy it, you'll probably be renting it ... alot!

Believe it or not I still have not seen this movie. When my daddy and middle sister went to Kentucky my sis (she's not a Disney fan.) tried to get him to buy it from a store down south for me. (It's rare that she thinks of anyone but herself.) But I thought that was sweet...kind of. 1st I wondered if there was going to be a catch if she talked daddy into getting me the movie. Anywho...I still want to see this movie more than ever now! Hopefully someday I can. Our family is always the last to see new movies, and since we don't have any TV connection I don't have any sources to know when new films are coming out.

Its kinda funny. I was really critical of this film when it first came out, mostly because it wasn't what I expected, but then I went to Italy for Spring Break and they showed it on the plane ride there and on the ride back. I enjoyed it much better the second and third time through. I think it helped that I knew what to expect and to appreciate the cuteness of it as well as the music. How do they Know is one of my favorite scenes in Disney movies.

I absolutely love this film! I especially love the soundtrack. I find myself wanting to sing along with her. I had no idea there was a book based on this. I really should research more!

I don't think there is a book based on Enchanted except for junior novelizations and such. Giselle, Edward, and Narissa aren't really "original" characters because they're so clearly inspired in personality by prior characters in prior Disney films.

It could be that they're confusing it with the movie Ella Enchanted(starring Anne Hathaway). That is based off a book, but I don't know the name of it.

To be honest, I thought this movie was a little over-rated. I liked it, but I'm not a HUGE fan of it. I don't know why. I think it's sort of an overused storyline and you expect a lot of things that happens. But still, I like the movie and we bought it ^^ Just my opinion ;D

I finally got around to seeing this film. To be honest, it hadn't appealed much to me before. I prefer a true Disney animation film, and think that a lot of their live action versions and films tend to be a bit corny and childish. Maybe it's seeing a real human try to do things that only a cartoon can do. *shrugs*
Either way, my sister in law highly recommended it as a good family film, one she could watch with her husband and young son, and still laugh along at the jokes. So, I watch it.
I was... disappointed. I was entertained, yes. I did laugh, yes. But at the end of the movie, it seemed like something was missing. It didn't feel original. It just kind of felt overused and a bit overrated. It was cute, but not something I'm dying to see again.

Don't worry Donald and Jamie. To each to their own. (There hasn't been one film made that was loved by everybody) But that's as it should be.
I was doing some basic surfing on the net and came across a few interviews with Amy Adams. What she had to say about her character was quite enduring. And I agree with what she said. Every time someone mentioned she was playing a "Disney Princess" she politley interrupted them and specified this was just another character whoam she was attracted to. She doesn't envision Giselle as a "Disney Princess" but somebody who has bright outlook on life and lives it to the fullest. And if anything her biggest and closest inspiration from a previous Disney film was Marry Poppins. She simply enjoyed having the liberty to able to sing and dance in the Middle of New York without having a care in the world. But at the end of the day it's still a job that she takes very seriously. Although she also mentioned how fortunate she was to work with both James Marsden & Patrick Dempsey. (I also agree there couldn't have been a better pair of Prince Charmings for her to work off of) And she admits she's quite the romantic at heart.
I think her idea of what the character is, is brilliant! She views her character with depth, wisdom, and joy. She doesn't see it the way so many others do. To her Giselle is just that. A lovely person who is a positive example for hope and possability. (In fact she didn't even make the association of being a Disney Princess until people mentioned it) And I can understand why.
