I'll be sharing some of my favorite Disney events and birthdays each day. So, we'll start with today.
For January 4:
1785: Jacob Grimm is born. Jacob and his brother Wilhelm published their collections of fairy tales, which inspired some of Disney's greatest films.
1905: Sterling Holloway is born. Holloway provided the voice for Mr. Stork, Flower, Cheshire Cat, Kaa, Roquefort, and Winnie the Pooh.

January 6:
1955: Rowan Atkinson, the voice of Zazu, is born. His greatest claim to fame is his portrayal of Mr. Bean.

January 7:
1948: Kenny Loggins is born. Loggins wrote a couple songs for Winnie the Pooh, "Return to Pooh Corner" and "You're Heart Will Lead You Home".

1930: Roy E. Disney is born!!

January 12, 1628: Famous storyteller Charles Perrault is born. Perrault was responsible for the stories of Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, Puss n' Boots, and Sleeping Beauty among other great fairy tales. His works have been adapted by Walt Disney, Gregory McGuire, and Kathryn Wesley among others. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THIS GREAT STORYTELLER!!!

January 14:
1898: Author Lewis Carroll, who wrote Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, dies of pneumonia.
1924: Guy Williams, who portrayed Disney's Zorro, is born.

January 29, 1959: Walt Disney Pictures releases the 16th Animated Film, and the last fairy tale that would be worked on by Walt Disney himself, Sleeping Beauty.

In 1933 Disney's "silly symphony" cartoon "Birds In the Spring was released
In 1938 the donald duck cartoon "Donald's better self" is released
In 1943 Wayne Allwine, the third person to be the voice of mickey mouse, was born
In 1950 Bruce Healy, composer/arranger/ conducter and musical director for various disney theme park attractions, was born
In 1956 voice actor Rob Paulsen, who was the voice of various animated characters in Kingdom Hearts II, Mickeys twice upon a christmas, Mulan II, Mickey Donald Goofy: the three muskateers, Teacher's pet, Stitch the movie, and Cinderella II, was born
In 1977 "The Many Adventures of winnie the pooh" was released
In 2003 " Inspector Gadget II" was released
In 2005 the disney channel movie " Buffalo Dreams" came out.

On March 12th....
In 1948, James Taylor, a singer whose version of the " second star to the right" appeared on a 1988 disney CD, was born.
In 1958, "The disneyland tv series" aired its final episode which was called "Saga of Andy Burnett: the big council"
In 1961, the tv series " Walt Disney presents" airs an episode "Danial Boone: the wilderness road"
In 1987, Robert J. Fitzpatrick is named president of Disneyland paris.
In 1993 A live-action disney film "A far off place" is released.
In 2003, the disney channel recieved 9 daytime emmy nominations, 4 for Bear in the big blue house, 2 for Kim Possible, 2 for Even Stevens, and 1 for Rolie Polie Olie.

1858: Kepple Disney marries Mary Richardson. This couple will become Walt Disney's grandparents.

1909: Animator Milt Kahl is born. He worked on such films as Pinocchio, Bambi, Song of the South, Alice In Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp, Robin Hood, and The Rescuers

March 24:
1901: Walt Disney's best friend and partner Ub Iwerks is born. Iwerks was an impact in the technical realm as well as in animation, assisting Disney with some of the early Mickey Mouse cartoons.
1905: Jules Verne, author of "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and many other adventure stories, passes away. The character of Verne will also be featured in the Disney Attraction The Timekeeper.
1922: Onna White, choreographer for "Pete's Dragon" is born. Her first film will be working for Morton DaCosta in Warner Bros. version of my favorite musical, Meredith Willson's "The Music Man"!

On March 25th...
In 1909 Jerry Livingston, songwriter of "Bibbidi- Boppidi-boo" from Cinderella, was born.
In 1947 Elton John, who worked on The Lion King and Aida, was born.
In 1996 Alan Menken and Steven Schwartz won an award for Best Song for "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas. Also on this day in 1996 John Lasseter won an award for his work in the animation of Toy Story.
