So, after reading through all the comments, my opinion is still the same. But only because it has nothing to do with the film. I'm still not ready to let go of 2D animation, lol. I do like the earlier Pixar films, up until Finding Nemo. I just can't seem to watch them anymore :/ Though, I will keep an eye out for the storyline of this, and who knows? Maybe I'll end up watching it.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Pixar has created some phenomenal films with heartfelt stories and beautiful animation. I say give the films between 2004 til the present day another shot. These computer animated films have as much heart and soul as the classic traditional animated films. If not more so.

Really? I might have to take your word on it. I just base my decision upon my hesitance to watch Pixar and Cars. I did like it, but it felt like it was mostly about the comedy. There was ome heartfelt moments in there, but I felt that they were trying to milk as much jokes they could out of that movie.. I haven't even seen Up, along with Pixar's other recent releases so I really can't make a full judgement until I do.
In saying that, I LOVED all 3 Toy Story's. I guess that will always be a Pixar classic.

I would suggest giving the following at least one view. Maybe you'll love them, maybe you'll be left wondering "What was so special?" Wall-E, Up, Ratatouille, and the upcoming Brave. (Don't need to see the last one in the theatre if you don't want to) In my opinion though they are the cream of the crop when it comes to film-making. I laughed, cried and marveled at how gorgeous the animation was. So happy to hear you enjoyed Toy Story 3. That's actually my favorite Pixar film.

Please tell me I'm not the only one whose super excited for this. I'm just itching to get to it on opening day! Merida looks like she'll be an awsome leading lady. Beautiful animation, wondeful voice cast, and heard the score will be more unique then anything Pixar has ever done. My gut instinct is saying it will be a great time at the theatre.

You're far from the only one who's excited about this. I'm actually more excited than I was for Toy Story 3 and Cars 2. Not because I disliked those films and/or franchises, but because I had an idea of what we were getting since we knew those worlds and characters from Pixar. Brave will be great fun because it's a new story. I cannot wait.
To comment on CGI vs. hand drawn animation, I agree with what the Pixar Braintrust (Pixar equivalent of Walt Disney's 9 Old Men) says. CGI took the blame for the decrease in popularity of hand drawn movies when it was really poor storytelling that hurt hand drawn animation. I truly believe that Pixar is making movies the way Walt Disney used to. And the Pixar directors love the Disney classics more than we do.

According to the preview that happened at the Seattle International Film Festival, Brave was met with mixed reviews. I hope this changes with more positve feedback at the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 18th. I want to see Pixar back at the top of their game. They are one of the few major film studios who have found success in crtitcal acclaim, the box office, and a devoted fan following. (Just because a film makes a lot of money doesn't mean it's beloved) There's only a handful of blockbusters these days that recieve this kind of recognition. I want to see Pixar back on the critics lists for "Top Ten Movies of the Year" as well as a general audiences.

So far the reviews I've seen have been positive. I also think Pixar is at a point in their history where it's becoming much more difficult to please the critics because the expectations are too high.

What website did you look at?^^ I went to the top critic site called Rotten Tomatoes. Even the positive reviews didn't seem to have the "It's good but it's not classic Pixar". I obviously won't be able to judge until I see it but I was hoping for the "Pixar is back!" type of reaction.

It was Rotten Tomatoes, but I've read some other reviews that were very glowing as well.
