The reasons for the title changes are ridiculous, but then again we're dealing with the Disney corporation, which has made all sorts of strange decisions. And while the new title may sound stupid, I heard a lot of people question the title "Up" and that film turned out just fine. If Pixar continues to make great films, odd sounding titles aren't going to hurt them.

I don't think changing the title will have an impact on the film itself. I feel the same way about whats now called Tangled. I did love the first title, and prefered it, but as long as there is heart at the centre of the film, it will be alright.

I watch a movie for the plot, not the title. Even though I like Bear and the Bow better, I will still see it.

At this rate I will defintely go see the film. The plot sounds like a very unconventional Fairy-Tale and an entertaining one at that. Do I still believe the title change was silly and uncessary? Yes! Do I think Disney is growing out of touch with what their general audience wants? Yes. That's basically what my original comment was all about.

I have to say when I first of "Up" I questioned the title, ditto with "Wall-E" and I absolutely adored both of those films so I am looking for ward to this.
I do agree as well with BRP on the name change. As silly as it sounds film companies, particularly animation companies, are fighting tooth and nail to appeal to the male gender. Why else do you think Pixar rushed Cars 2 into production so soon after the first one - because it's pretty much the only lucrative marketing tool Disney have for young boys anymore. That also applies to a reasoning for Disney buying Marvel last year or whenever it was. I do think the Disney company are becoming desperate to gain the full market back. While the original title didn't have anything about a princess in it, "The Bear and the Bow" nothing is set out in stone to say, from that title, that its going to be a bow and arrow, when I first heard the title I thought it was a hairbow in all honesty giving female connotations straight away. This is only my thinking by the way.
I'm interested for the eventual film however, after all, it is Pixar (;

Yay! Looks like Pixar"s little mishap with Catrs 2 will soon be forgotten. This should be very interesting indeed. It's only a Teaser, but I can feel in my gut it has promise.

I have seen the trailer and it doesn't look like a Pixar movie. I am not saying it looks bad or anything. Actually it looks like a mix between Tangled and How To Train Your Dragon.

If we're lucky. Disney will have two strong films to come out next year. This and Frankenweenie could be the top contenders. As strange as it may sound. I would love to have a year where I can't decide which film I'm rooting for at the Oscars. That would awsome!

Thank you for doing that.
Looks like a fantastic film. I forgive Pixar for their tiny glitch. Can't wait for next summer to arrive!
I don't think it was ever said here is the official cast-
Kelly Macdonald as Princess Merida (Reese Witherspoon dropped out. Persnally I'm glad they hired a Scottish acctress for the role)
Julie Walters as the Wise Woman
Billy Connonlly as King Fergus
Emma Thompson as Queen Elinor
Kevin McKidd as Lord MacGuffin
Craig Ferguson as Lord MacIntosh
Robbie Coltrane as Lord Dingwall
John Ratzenberger's role has yet to be announced.

What I find interesting is that Pixar has described this film as "Darker and more mature piece then their previous films" Yet I always thought Pixar was mature in themes with the occasional dark tone mixed in.
I guess I'll just have to wait and see to find out why they would use this description.

Well Pixar's stories while some having mature themes such as Cars, are presented in the form of fun, wholesome characters and appropriate content. Whereas for example 'Click' a film with a very similar theme to 'Cars' (to not rush through life, take your time and enjoy every minute and while you are at it don't be so selfish) contains sex and sex discussion, some bodily noise humor and mature language. So see how two films with the same mature theme can be different to the point of earning different ratings? It's presentation.
So perhaps in this case they mean that the characterization and content will also be mature this time with this film.

Just saw a new trailer for this film. Looks even better as we get closer to it's opening day. What I have always admired about Pixar is the calculated editing process they take with their trailers. They have done extemely well at is keeping major spoilers (Such as how the bear fits into the story) out of the picture. For that reason alone I look forward to watching it anf being surprised along the way.
