(Double post, massive bump, not sorry)
One thing I like about this movie is that Scott and his ex-wife don't get back together. It's fairly common in stuff geared towards kids and I can understand why (my parents have been divorced for 25 years and a small part of me will always want them to remarry), but it's really refreshing to see divorced parents stay divorced. I also really love how in the third movie the two families are so close, more like one big family, really, and Scott's relationship with his son's half sister is really sweet.

That is such a good thought! I too enjoyed that they stayed divorced. It fits with real life families and their issues.
