Why do we all appreciate Hakuna Matata so much? Is it the catchy lyrics? The sequence in the movie? etc Its time to give praise to such a great and fun song from Disney's The Lion King!

I think not only because the lyrics are catchy, but because it's so fun and upbeat. It's like when your favorite song comes on the radio, you just have to sing along. L.G.

What I like most about this song is that we get to watch Simba go from little cub to grown up lion. Its a great trasition song and we get to see a little bit about Timon and Pumbas way of life. It's also very catchy and I can't get it out of my head as soon as someone says the word.

Hakuna Matata is the kind of song that gets stuck in your head on the first listen... this is the song that I can remember singing the most in my childhood after watching the movie. Plus, Nathan Lane and Ernie Sabella are great singers... especially Lane. And then Jason Weaver and Joseph Williams do great jobs taking the roles of Simba's singing voice(s). (Although I've always wondered why Matthew Broderick didn't sing...) Plus, the song (usually) sounds great in all its other incarnations! And it was written by Elton John and Tim Rice. How great is that?!

While this is a fun and upbeat song, there also has to be given credit to the awesome singers and composer and lyricist. They did a fantastic job.

I, like Sarah, think this is a lovely transition song from Simba as a young cub to a full grown lion. It's fun, upbeat... You can't help but to sing it aloud!

To me Hakuna Matata is the ideal comedic delivery piece. Nathan Lane and Ernie Sebella have no restrictions. They are 100% carefree and have no shame in declaring they are proud of their lifestyle. It's a wonderful escape moment for the audience after the tragedy that occured not long before in the film. It just says "Now you can sit back and relax."

Agreed! It's a nice change from the somber direction that the movie was heading in, and it was the perfect introductions to the characters. It's so catchy and the message of the song is reflected in the song itself.
