Those trailers really played up the comedy side of the movie, and mostly left out the sad parts, but i suppose they had to keep something hidden.

This is a really sweet and touching movie in my opinion. Yes, it does have some funny parts, but all in all it's a really nice story. Especially the part about "Ohana." L.G.

This movie has been on this weekend, so I watched the end of it yesterday and am going to watch the rest sometime later today. It restored my thoughts that I had forgotten about, how good this film really is.
I love Lilo's character, she is so different and strange, you just gotta love her. I'm not a huge fan of Stitch, unlike most of you, but I am so glad that he was in the movie. He was an answer to Lilo's prayer, falling from 'heaven' and such. Most of all, I love the relationship between Nani and Lilo. It reminds me so much of my own sister and myself, although she was never my real guardian. I love the scene where they are in the hammock, and their flowers blow away in the wind together. Much like the Lion King, this film touches my heart in the sensitive areas, although differently. Lilo and Stitch plays on the importance of family, no matter what type it is or how small. Family is family. And family means no one gets left behind.

I Adore Lilo and Stitch, it was A Beautiful moving animated movie on so many levels, even though it was very comical and funny it was also very indepth and deep in 7 parts throught Lilo and Stitch, to me it was all a regular movie was. An it seem like I was watching A normal movie, an not A Animated Feature that was how Masterful it was done and Created and made in it's own right an standard.
brotherly Love, understanding, peace,Buzz Lightyear The Man an Xr fan 97386.

I think Lilo & Stitch is good for what it is. However I felt there was a bit of magic missing. (And I'm not keen on the animation at all) Since I'm not an artist I shouldn't be too critical, but i didn't find it appealing what so-ever. (I think Brother Bear did more justice) The story on the other hand has me mixed. I admire the filmmakes for creating a film so dark yet terribly realistic. It's heartwrenching in so many ways. Families being seperated, actually realizing you're stange and lonely, people saying bluntly to you're face you don't belong anywhere and are a waste to society and having to live feeling ashamed as if you were the villian when indeed you're the victim. (My heart goes out so strongly to both Stitich and Lilo) I've been on the other side and have delt with those cold hard facts upfront. Through the majority of the film I just wanted to reach through the screen and hold them close. Reassurring them on how incredible they are. It's very depressing. However Chris Saunders deserve massive applause and credit for creating the first original story for the Disney Company. (This doesn't include Pixtar) On the oppisite end though, tjis isn't among my favs because and some points the screenplay seems to drag on, as if they couldn't dcide what was next. And it seems tooo rushed. Something from the Disney magic wasn't put in and comes in just under par. (Brother Bear also wins my heart for the ony 2-d film made this decade for staying close to counterparts)
As for the jokes that were played on the classics, I thought they were funny to. "BUT" I strongly disagree with what was said about Jasmine earlier. (And the term that was used I think is far too harsh and even inappropriate) These were supposed to spoof the original films. So what was said and seen in those commercials was the exact opposite of what the films were conveying. Jasmine (just like Bellle) is a strong, independent, and intelligent woman. The sequence of her on the carpet and taking off with Stitch is Disney showing a contridiction to her personality and character. (Just like they also did ith Belle)
Sorry if I ranted. But I'm a Jasmine fan and felt the urge to defend her.

Okay, I love this movie a lot. Both, Lilo and Stitch, are cute and interessting. Lilo lost her parents but she´s so strong. And Stitch learns about love, friendship and family. So touching and sweet. I just don´t like that Disney made 3 sequels and an animated serie (I liked the first season of the serie and Stitch has a glitch though) And now they are going to make an Anime with Stitch but without Lilo. Sorry I had to say that. I will always love the first and original movie.

Has anyone bought/planning to buy the new two-disc Big Wave edition? I'm skipping it, since I already have L&S on DVD and the special features didn't seem cool enought to warrent shelling out $20 or more.

Lilo & Stitch will be airing on Free-TV the first May... I might not even HOPE that it may be the cinemaversion, so it'll be uncut, that would make it the most awesome thing... but I suppose they will air the cut DVD version, I recall ranting about that several times already so I'm not going into detail as of now.
I didn't like Lilo & Stitch the ver first time I saw it. Due to the yes, really funny trailers, I expected a comedy and I was like "WOHA! I don't want some drama about pretty mature stuff I try to avoid in real life! No plz!" I was still pretty young back then and I didn't understand - and therefore didn't care about it. I also didn't try to understand, whatfor? I do now.
Lilo & Stitch is not the everyday's children movie and that's why it's SENSELESS to pin it down on FSK 0 (Oh, here I am at the cutting again, somebody stop me @@). [Didn't read the whole topic yet, but I will during the day and either edit this post or repost sth.]

I recently saw this film again for the first time in years. Considering the hype that it got the year it was released, I was hopeful that Disney was back again. And when I saw the film on DVD shortly after release, I was a bit disappointed. It just didn't live up to my expectations.
But to fast forward roughly 6 years, I decided to buy the DVD mostly because I wanted the teasers Disney made for the film and I'd heard excellent reviews about the bonus features in terms of appeal to animation buffs. Of late, I had wanted to see the film again, so with all those things in mind, I decided to add it to my collection. And on a second viewing, I'm very glad I did.
The second time around I thought the story was emotional and heartfelt. Instead of being practically perfect, to borrow a phrase from Mary Poppins, Lilo is awkward and desperately trying to make friends. She's an adorable little girl, but she's also kind of strange. Frankly, it's a nice thing to see. And I love how they handled Stitch. He's supposedly created as a character capable of pure evil with zero good tendencies whatsoever. And yet, he slowly begins to try to be good, with very mixed results.
I love the fact that Stitch is flawed. It adds depth and strength to his character as he tries to change from his "programming" in an effort to help this little girl that loves him. In so doing, we see the beginnings of change in his character. All in all, I now believe Lilo and Stitch to be an exception in an otherwise dark period.

Trivia news of the day! I have found the translation for Stitch's insult towards the Grand Council Woman in the opening sequence of the film. For those who prefer to use their imagination and envision Stitch using extremely "naughty" language. You should skip this post. As in reality the translation is of course PG since this is Disney. For the record I found this while I happen to be surfing the web and came across the TV series. In one episode Stitch uses the same expression as insult towards Gantu. Lilo translates what he says. What he really says is "You are big tall and ugly." LOL! You don't say that to your world leader when you are on trial. Talk about shameless. No wonder Jumba was quick to recant. "I didn't teach him that!" Haha!

Lol! That makes sense though, considering that stupid-head is considered to be a pretty big insult in this movie

I hope no one here is superstitious. Lilo and Stitch celebrated their 13th anniversary on June on 21st! Lots of love to the cast and creative team. "Ohana means family. Family means no one gets left behind or forgotten."
