Hey guys, I thought this was very interesting... recently I have learned that The Lion King was based off Shakespere's Hamlet. And TLK 1/2 was based on Rosencratz and Guildenstern are Dead. Just some trivia that I thought i'd share.

Aha! I knew about TLK/Hamlet, but I never thought of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead with 1 1/2! Very cool. (I love the play, by Tom Stoppard) It certainly fits! Thanks for sharing that.

I had heard about the Hamlet thing, and I saw it too. I had never seen Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, so I never even thought about that, but it does seem to fit.

TLK 2 is based on Romeo and Juliet wich is a bit obvious to be honest

Well in that way it does The ending doesn't though that makes sense. Disney takes a lot of stories such as the formly mentioned and "Disney-izes" them, which most of the time means getting rid of all the death and stuff and just all around making it happier. thats what they did with hercules, i mean, that hardly follows the true mythology of the real hercules. i believe Meg was really his 2nd wife and at one point hated him so much she eat or killed all their children.

I knew when I was watching the special fetaures on TLK that they made the part with Mufasa coming back like when Mosus saw the burning bush. Thought that was kinda cool.

I heard the lion king also caused a bit of a stir as people in Japan were saying it was based on a program called 'Kimba the White Lion'.

I saw a book with the title "Kimba, the king of lions" it's about a little lion who's father dies and he has to rule the kingdom, but his evil uncle wants it for himself. sounds familiar, huh?
