WOOOOOO!!!! Next month, on the 6th of November, I'm going for a 3 day exscursion with school and on the first day we get to see The Lion King as part of our Drama work!! How good is that!! It's cost us £175 for the full trip but it is definitely going to be worth it!! I can't wait ;D Only one disappoinment is I've heard Rafiki's character has been changed to a female in the show So anyway, whilst on this topic has anyone else seen a Disney show? Such as Tarzan, The Lion King, Mary Poppins, Beauty and the Beast?

It's because they didn't think there were enough female lead parts so they changed Rafiki's gender to female. That's what I've heard anyway.

OH MY GOD!! Ive seen the Lion King, Beauty and the beast and Mary Poppins. The lion king took my breath away, when the circle of life started at the beginning, hairs stood up on the back of my neck and I had tears in my eyes!!! Its an absolute triumph, absolutely beautiful. The music is perfect especially the new songs which add a breath of new life into it. The female rafiki really, really works so I hope you arent disappointed with her because she has a fantastic voice and really fits the part. The costumes are stunning and although not lifelike, they are wonderful depictions of the animals they are meant to portray and masterfully handled by the cast. The only downside were the two children who played simba and nala as they couldnt really sing but hopefully you will get some children who were more of the standard of Jane and Michael in Mary Poppins who were both perfect, funny and charming with beautiful singing voices and bags of talent.
