So I’ve been hearing and reading various rumours going around online lately that the actress who looks set to be cast as Ariel in this upcoming new adaptation is supposedly gonna be of mixed race & it’s apparently causing a bit of an uproar >_<

That's what I heard, but I'm not too worried. I have yet to have a Disney live action that I have not liked.
The young lady they chose is beautiful and folks have been saying she can sing pretty well too. I haven't checked much into her singing, because I like to be surprised. Here it to hoping it goes well. I'm curious to see how they will handle Eric and or Ariel's entire family.
