ABC Family is airing the first and third Santa Clause movies during their 25 days of Christmas, but not the second. At all. It also seems that in previous years The Santa Clause 2 aired less frequently than the others.
Anyone know why?

I love them all... But I think as far as ratings go, it got the least. Maybe they were trying to put in higher ranking films to bring in more audience?

I guess. It would explain why Elf is airing 10,000 times

I know that Santa Clause 2 is considered the least popular of the series.

Is it? I haven't seen it in so long, I honestly don't remember how it stacks up compared to the third one

It's always bugged me that ABCFamily doesn't air the second film. I know that Santa Clause 2 is considered the least popular of the series. I don't comprehend this at all. The first is of course the best, can't be beaten but of the two sequels I prefer the second. I find the third film in it's entirety to be completely idiotic and cliche. Plus I can not forgive the absence of Bernard. As much as I do enjoy Spencer Breslin, the Curtis character just isn't my cup of tea. The second film while having flaws such as the lack of development of the Mrs. Clause contract and the horrible idea of the large toy Santa substitute overall introduced some interesting concepts. Sarah had already moved on to a new relationship in the first film so it was nice to see Scott finding new love as well. The introduction of the young daughter of Sarah and Neil provided the time jump which opened up interesting opportunities for Charlie's character since he had to be made older and what caught my attention the most was Scott giving Carol the doll at the school's staff Christmas party. One of the concepts at least two of the stop action animated short Santa Claus films agree on is that Santa's first act of love towards Mrs. Clause was giving her a doll. So I found it really well done how they incorporated that into this film. The suspense of Carol struggling to believe that Scott is Santa Clause had me on the edge of my seat. So I don't understand at all how the third film ended up being more popular.
