2. “You know Disney movies are for kids, right?”Wrong! From the time of Walt himself, Disney films have been meant for FAMILIES.
3. “How many times does a grown adult need to see Frozen?”No one
needs to see it but I do recommend that folks give it at least one chance.
“Why don’t you go somewhere new instead of going to Disneyland again?”Again? Last time I went was 2005. No joke. Before that the last time was 2003 and before that when I was SEVEN!
Point being there are large time gaps in between my trips there. So it's like new every time.
BTW my family may be going next December. It's under consideration anyway.
You wanna talk to someone about frequent trips to Disneyland, that's my Stepsister.
5. “Isn’t it weird going to Disneyland without any children?” Actually 2005 was the only time I have. Before that I WAS a kid and then in 2003 my kid cousin was there.
No not weird at all. Awesome.
Freaking actors have gone to Disneyland childless! When I was five and taken by my aunt and uncle (brother and sister) my aunt as I was told had run into Kurt Russell and Goldie Han.
6. “But you don’t, like take photos with Goofy, do you?”During the 2003 trip I was 16 and had photos taken with several characters including Goofy. At the 2005 trip I was 17 and my best friend and I had a photo taken with Tigger. It's loads of fun.
7. “Wasn’t Walt Disney a bigot?”Sorry to sound like an idiot but honest to God, what's a bigot?
8. “Why don’t you dress up like something besides a Disney character for Halloween?”The only Disney character I'd ever dressed as for Halloween was Nala in the third grade. For the most part I was always true to the theme of Halloween and chose scary costumes.
9. “Did you really name your cat after a character in The Little Mermaid?”No. Though I did once have a cat I'd named Simba but strictly after his energetic behavior, he wasn't even an orange cat and I came to regret the name. We had to give him up because my mother became allergic.
10. “How much money do you spend on Disney shit?”None anymore, our Disney Store's quality reduced greatly years ago and stopped catering much to adult fans.
11. “Is that a Disney tattoo?”I don't have a tattoo and if I were to get one it wouldn't be Disney.
12. “Are we going to spend the whole night talking about Cruella de Vil’s back story? Again?”I don't even remember it, I've not seen that film in years!
13. “Is that a quote from a Disney movie?”Maybe.
14. “Do you think it might be time to stop comparing every guy you date to Prince Eric?”I've hardly dated if you could even call lunch with a guy multiple days a week dating. And once in my life have I crushed on an animated character and he was from Digimon (season 4).
15. “Is all of your home decor Disney themed?”None is, except for one Esmeralda wall hanging a friend gave me several years ago. When I was a child my room was Disney heavy though. I once had Lion King bet sheets.
16. “How many Disney holiday ornaments do you have?”I don't think we have any.
17. “Don’t Disney movies basically teach girls to change everything about themselves in order to get a man?”The Little Mermaid for sure and several of the classic princesses teach that one needs to wait for a man to sweep her off her feet which is also negative. Recently though they are changing their female representations though to be more tasteful and independent, sometimes even they themselves do the courting.
18. “Do all of your t-shirts have Disney characters on them?” Only a few now. Frankinweenie, Jack and Sally, Scar and Sully.
19. “How is it possible to know the lyrics to every song on the Mulan soundtrack?”Well I don't but I used to memorize Disney songs just by listening to them a ton.
My best friend would be of more interest to you. As a fluent minor in Italian, she knows many Disney songs in Italian, some she learned FIRST in Italian and thus finds the English weird. The Tangled soundtrack for one.
Though I don't know the language myself, when translations are provided I'm aware via Youtube of the Finnish lyrics to 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight', 'You'll Be In My Heart' (short, in-film version) and I think 'Love Will Find the Way' and the Polish to 'Colors of the Wind'.
20. “Don’t you already own {insert movie name} on VHS and DVD? Do you also need it on Blu-ray?”Actually since I've moved almost all my VHSs have gone to Goodwill and there is just one bag waiting to go. Even back at the old residence the only VCR in the place was in my room and almost never got used. I won't re-buy what I've got on DVD but what I don't for sure will be in blu-ray.
21. “You do realize you’re not actually a Disney Princess?”Duh, I'm not interested in being any kind of princess. I'd rather be a vampire.
