In an interview, JK Rowling recently revealed that her biggest regret was pairing Hermione with Ron. She said that was her plot from the beginning and that was how she wanted to see it through, but that was not who she wanted her to end up with! How do you all feel on that? Who would you have rather seen her with and why? I likes her with Ron. I always thought they were cute together.

I liked Ron/Hermione...I thought it was cute and kind of unexpected. I was kind of rooting for Harry to be with Luna, though I like Harry/Ginny.
Anyway, I think it's pretty normal to look back on your writing and see things that you wished you had done differently. I know I have.

I was a Harry and Harmione fan so I loved hearing this news. Though I'm still sad the books didn't go there. I really disliked the Harry and Ginny pairing. I would've rather seen him with Cho or Luna.

I was a full Ron/Hermione supporter. I thought they were adorable.
The relationship I never agreed with was Harry/Ginny. It could of been anyone else... Ms. Rowling... if you come back with more books, do something with Ginny. LOL

I like Ron with Hermione but my favourite paring would have seen her with Neville.

I actually liked her pairing Ron with Hermione, because it was a nice change from the formula that a lot of authors use, and that is to pair the main character with another protagonist. Ginny was for all intents and purposes a side character, and that the main character wound up with a side character rather than one that might have otherwise been previously set up for him was a nice change.
RE: Hermione/Neville: I personally believe that while Neville might have liked Hermione as a friend, at the same time he might have been a little too intimidated by her to really be attracted to her that way. But you're right, Ari, she totally would spend a lot of time bossing him around.

Honestly, I have a hard time understanding why Rowling felt obligated to stick with her original pairing. As the author/creator of this world, she held all the power to decide who ended up with who.

I was really excited when I heard this, too. I've always been a Harry/Hermione shipper.
