those are excellent thoughts joplin. With my son being less than 1 it is above him, but not for long. A show above the level of the child is a great learning tool and it can encourage more interaction between parent and child. I sit on the floor with Elijah and help him with the interaction, but there are better shows for that than this one. The super sleuth part is kind of annoying, why do Tigger and Pooh need scooters in the Hundred Acre Wood? Tigger has a bouncy tail he doesn't need a scooter!

I watched one episode of this with my one year old godson and as a children's show it's not too bad but it just didn't seem right without Christopher Robin. Why did they feel the need to take him out of the show anyway?

I am not sure, he is in it occasionally, but with the new animation he doesn't look right and he sounds funny too.

I am in agreement with both of you ladies, I saw one episode and while it was through my music I still have an opinion from it. I feel Pooh is not meant to be CGI, it just looks all wrong to me, sorry. I also think the little girl does not belong, Pooh was created because of Christopher Robin, Pooh belongs to him in real life thats how the stories were started, from a real teddy bear named Pooh. So they took away half of what makes the stories what they are. I also agree with Lorelei about the Scooters, they are in the woods, you don't ride scooters in the woods, and if I am not mistaken back in the time of Christopher robin things like that did not even exist. Plus I did manage to hear over my music that Piglet's voice is messed up, they should have brought back the person who did it in Piglet's Big Movie, that was a good voice.
Basically it is a miserable failure to modernize Pooh in my opinion. I believe they were trying too hard. I also agree with James that its not parent enjoyable and part of aiming a show at kids is to make it enjoyable for parents to watch with their child. This show does not meet that, if I were a parent I would rather be in the other room while my child watched this show. And part of interactive shows is for the parent and child to follow the story and solve the little puzzles together so that the parent is also helping the child to learn.
I will give them points for the general idea. Just put Christopher Robin back, have Piglet join the sleuthers because he has always been one of the main three characters that you most commonly see hanging out with CR; and definitely lose the scooters. Maybe a few more tweaks here and there, and this show could have had more of a potential.

yeah Piglet's voice is wrong, Eeyore's voice isn't quite right, they got rid of Gopher, now they have Beaver, Porcupine, Turtle, and Woodpecker. Also, Tigger used to occasionally get a word wrong or add an extra sylable, but now he is constant screwing up words, that is going to teach kids to mispronouce them, how is that educational?

the more i watch this with Elijah the more is seems like the Tigger speach stuff is on purpose as he tried to make jokes, but it still annoys me, and Owl has been cut out too

So they cut the original characters and add new ones? I can't really find the point in doing that, they would've had to thought out entirely new characters and personalities for what purpose? To make true Winnie the Pooh lovers sad? The children would love the old characters just as much as they love the new ones.

So they cut the original characters and add new ones? No orginal characters were cut. Christopher Robin appears occasionally and Gopher was never in the books to begun with.

John Fiedler was the voice of Piglet since the original movie, but he passed away in 2005

I didn't really mean from the books but the original T.V. show but looking how they changed the original TV show against the book,k perhaps I shouldn't be fussing about the character changes they made now.
