It seems the people behind the Pirate movies have done a remake of The Lone Ranger. Trailer #1 ll Trailer #2This isn't high on my watch list but I might go see it out or curiosity. I'm still laughing so hard about Johnny Depp playing Tanto. |

I like the Lone Ranger, so this might be good. I am actually disappointed in Disney for casting Johnny Depp as Tanto. It was an opportunity to cast an actual Native American.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one baffled by the casting of Johnny Depp. It's not that he isn't a talented actor. However this is just bizarre as caucasian man was cast instead of Native American. I can undertsand why people are offended. (Reffering to some other movie sites)

yeah no, I am with you Silver. He is a very talented actor! But I am sure there are talented Native American actors out there too. It just seems more forced.

Johnny Depp does have Native American ancestry, so it could have been worse, I guess.
I'm actually pretty intrigued this. The movie looks fun. Not sure right now if it's something I'll see in theaters or wait for DVD though.

I think they're hoping that Depp's popularity will help sell the film. That was my first thought when I heard that he was cast as Tanto. Since it's also by the same people behind the Pirates movies perhaps they just really like working with Johny Depp? |

I am really on-the-edge-of-my-seat excited about seeing this movie. I really think that Depp will give this movie a highly interesting twist and fun/good humor. And since it's done by the same people who did PotC, I'm sure those factors paired with his popularity is why they cast him. It's why I'm seeing it. |
