it was NOT a J&R spin off!!!!
i don't even think a new TLK movie is going to happen, atleast not until 2010. Enchanted and Rapunzel Unbraided are going to hit HUGE! And their are so many other D*sney movies they can squeeze more sequels out of, so i think TLK is offically out of the MORE bucket.

The creaters have said that The Lion King Two is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, just as the first one was inspired by Othello.

yeah thats what i meant, sorry if i used the wrong word or something, but Gazelle didn't have to get in my face about it. sorry if thats not how she meant it but the quadruple exclimation point sorta suggests it.

The creaters have said that The Lion King Two is inspired by Romeo and Juliet, just as the first one was inspired by Othello. the 1st one was inspired by Hamlet.

By what? The Lion King was inspired by Hamlet, The Lion King Two was inspired by Romeo and Juliet. They aren't based on Shakepeare's plays, just used as inspiration

As a huge lion king freak, I can only hope they won't make a 4th one I actually liked 1 1/2 very much (apart from the Simba & Nala drawings). It's just that, I think you have to forget about TLK 1, and see 1 1/2 as a totally new movie. Don't know why they putted 3 on our cover, apperently we shop different then in the US, according to Disney Netherlands. (someone once mailed them and asked about it) I'd only be interested if they would actually make a new Classic out of it, but I don't see that happening. Sequel = cheapquel

Okay, if we're going to get on the subject of TLK inspirations--- First off, sorry if i came on strong. that's the one thing i hate about the internet is you can't read peoples tones. its just a bit fustrating when i hear that, because if anything both movies where only subcontiously WS based, if at all Originally in TLK, Scar was not the uncle/brother. They later changed his character in the scripted because they thought itd be more threatning if the villian trying to take the thrown was from within the family and had a history with other characters, not just randomly thrown in there. it was at an mid writting stage when someone pointed out the 'Hamlet' connections. That's also when they line "Long live the king" had really been "Good night sweet prince" which they changed to what it is now to get way from the 'Hamlet' theme. And if anyone can point out the 8 corpses, please do. Othello? i really don't understand how that connection was made...? Help? TLK2 was in no way meant to be based off ANYTHiNG! it was just a story about two lovers who parents hate eachother. That doesn't mean it was based off of tToRaJ at all! i could easily list many movies and books that could also be suggested so but isn't. The only TLK movie that was based or inspired by something else was 1 1/2. Because of all the fans claiming TLK was an 'innocent Hamlet' story, they took Tom Stoppard's ideas of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" taking two minor characters and giving them a background and medium depth to hidden aspects of the characters and their original cannon story. That is the only movie that has been admited to have been inspired by something else. i hope this clears up some mess, and that i didn't come on too harsh. <3 i mean no harm! BTW, i highly suggest reading "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead" (favorite play EVER) and see the movie AFTER! it's very cute and funny, especially if you know 'Hamlet'

Understandble, but i just want everyone/'s views understood and to know where i'm coming from, here. Also what i said wasn't directed at the people on the board, but TLK watchers in general.
