Disney recently announced that they are pulling the plug on the Narnia franchise. Walden Media may still make Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but Disney will not finance the film.

Personally I was not as pleased with Caspian as the first Narnia. So I am not sure I am interested, but until I see some trailers that decision is not completely final.

Ah ya beat me to it haha Yeah I read this recently too =/ I can't say I've been a big fan of the two so far to be honest as they far from wowed me. I can't say I find this a big loss from Disney's back catalogue really :/

When I see what's happened to the Narnia franchise on the silver screen, more than anything I see a huge loss, but it stems more from what could have been, should have been than what actually happened. Disney made a lot of money on the first Narnia film. It was a huge success for Disney and presented them with tremendous opportunities for a very successful fantasy franchise that has the added benefit of being more child friendly than the Lord of the Rings movies.
But then Caspian was drastically and dramatically altered. In a story like this, you have to please the fans first. It has to be something that they watched unfold in their imagination as you present it on the silver screen. But when you take tremendous liberties with the story, to the point of rendering some main characters virtually unrecognizable from the books, and inventing wild new plot points that were never a part of the story to begin with, you run the risk of having the fans leave the theater saying "what in the world happened?"
And when fans who were really looking forward to the movie tell their friends it was a disappointment, the casual filmgoers are quickly going to find something else to watch, especially as the summer movie season heats up.

For anyone interested, Fox has apparently signed on to produce any future Narnia films.

I'm afraid it may already be dead. Oh, they may make another movie, but that doesn't mean it's going to do very well. I love C.S. Lewis work and I was very disappointed in Prince Caspian. The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, however, was great

Not only has Fox taken over, but the reason was that Disney completely dropped out of it and left Walden Media to deal with it by itself, just because Caspian didn't get as much money has The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. So I guess it's no longer a Disney film.
