Just saw the trailer. It's classic Tim Burton with the typical zanniness you would recieve from Johnny Depp. (I almost didn't believe it was his voice until he appeared on-screen) But from the vibe I was getting in the preview it will pay tribute to all the favorite moments from the orginal movie. But if my instinct is correct this maybe yet another PG-13 film for Disney. The context seems to have this dark and even risque undertone. But I'm excited none the less. I hope Mr. Burton will make up to me his butchering of my beloved Sweeney by magically capturing the essance of this story.

I havn't seen the trailer yet, but i'll sure go look at it now. From what i've seen he does seem to be keeping close to the original disney classic, continuing from there. Its seems a little dark for me, but i'm still exsited.

Um, is the movie following the Mad Hatter and not Alice, because that is what the trailer made it seem like it was.

I think this film is more of a sequel to Wonderland than an adaptation of it. It's quite possible that Burton could center this film around the Mad Hatter.
It could also be that the Mad Hatter was shown the most because Johnny Depp is the biggest star attached to this film.

I hope that's true, because I just kept yelling at the trailer "Tweedle-dum and Tweedle-dee are not in Alice in Wonderland! The White Queen was not in Alice in Wonderland! Why are they mixing the two books up?!" But this just looks freaky. I guess I'm the only one here who isn't looking forward to it. =/

My knowledge of the story comes from the Disney animated version of it and a few quotes I've heard from it. From what I've read, Burton's version takes place 10 years after the story. SPOILER WARNING. CLICKING ON THE LINK BELOW MAY RESULT IN LEARNING PLOT POINTS THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO. A Glimpse at the plot of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland

I found out why the trailer features the Mad Hatter. Facebook had a contest to get the Mad Hatter, The Red Queen, and the The White Queen to get as many fans as possible the winning team would then get the first release of the trailer featuring the winning character.

I'm actually surprised this film hasn't been commented on in awhile. For American audiences it will be arriving in theatres this week. My excitment for this film has grown since I first saw the trailer. I'm relieved to hear the story won't revolve around the Mad Hatter as much as I thought. It will be more of a coming-of-age story with Alice. (Metaphorically speaking) In an interview I saw with Johnny Depp, he had nothing but praise for newcomer Mia Wisikowska. That's very reassuring as he rarley speaks with such admiration of young costars. The last I remember him telling the media to keep their eyes open for astounding new talent was Freddie Highmore, his costar in Finding Neverland. (Who very much deserved that title) But I'm sure Mr. Depp and Helena Bonham Carter will be the ones who recieves the Golden Globe nominations. The early previews I read couldn't stop raving about their performances. Hopefully Anne Hathaway will great as well. Her track record is is bit more wishy-washy. All in all, I'm looking forward to this.

Time to see how Tim Burton butchers another classic.
I cannot wait until his version of The Wizard of Oz.

Being a big Tim Burton/Disney fan, I'm really excited about seeing this movie. I actually plan on watching it this weekend with my mom. She wants to see it too. I'm really glad to see that Alan Rickman and Johnny Depp are in this movie.
