Isn't this gonna be Monsters University by any chance?

I can't view the video on my phone, but I'll watch it later. But yep, it's Monster's University. This look really good. I can't wait for this to come out ;D

I don't get this. I really don't.
I respect John Lasseter and he's one of my all time heroes, but I just don't understand how you can go from pretty much zero tolerance on sequels (when he came to Disney he shut production down on numerous sequels, prequels and midquels which admittedly would have been terrible) to suddenly having 3, 4 sequels (if the Finding Nemo 2 rumours are to be believed, which from what I can gather sounds correct) in the space of what 4, 5 years? (Other than money, which in my heart I hope isn't the case but my brain tells me otherwise...)
Not only that, but why a prequel? Who wanted to see Mike and Sulley before they became best friends? If you asked a hundred people back in 2001 what they'd rather see I know with no doubt, they'd unanimously vote a sequel. How often are prequels even theatrically released? Very few. It seems strange to me and a waste.
Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to this film, not least due to revisiting the world and the characters. But I regret that they're losing the growth the characters went through in the first film and taking them even further back in their character development. It seems an easy route to me as a filmmaker.
I'll be approaching this with some trepidation. (Like you couldn't tell haha! xD)

The more I read into this movie and the more I see of it the more I want to see it I'm actually really interested to see how this dynamic duo came together to be the friends they are in the first movie.

Since I loved the first movie, I'm fine with a prequel. I still trust that Pixar will tell an interesting story here that may deepen the original film.
As a side note, I love the Monsters University ad that Pixar ran here in the U.S. during college football bowl game season. The ad started like every other university ad you typically see during college sporting events and it was only when the students looked like monsters did you realize it was for a movie.

I thought Monsters Inc was good, but not the greatest. In this case, though, I'm glad they decided to do a prequel. From my point of view, they should leave well enough alone and not do a sequel following (or ignoring) the ending with Boo and Sully. I like prequels because it gives us further insight into characters we already love, not necessarily trying to stretch a story where it doesn't have room to grow.

I have only seen the original film in this franchise. So, I don't know if I will be seeing this. I know I won't in theaters. Maybe if it comes on Netflix or something, but yeah.
