I think its cool to have her be black. The frog Prince is a classic fairy tale and you would expect the charactors to be white. Never heard of the actress but she should be good.

When announcing the name change on the film, Disney also announced that no voice casting has been done yet. I've found IMDB to be a pretty inaccurate source on yet to be released movies.

The rumored release date right now is 2009. As for voice actors, I have seen two different names being cast for the same character, and Disney has said that no one has been cast yet. The story itself is still in development.

Definately can't wait to see this one. Probably gonna throw a little celebration party, which will include going into the city to see it opening day.

I think it's always been slated for a '09 release. And be forewarned, they won't hesitate to delay this if they think it's necessary.

well lets hope they are going to get it right since they are giving themselves plenty of time for slow hard work.

I read an article of the Princess and the Frog, would that be more rumors? I don't know but its not going to be stricktly parallel to the fairytale story of the Frog Princess, that was part of the reason they renamed it. It has something to do about the present and New Orelans too.

While I'm not going to count my chickens before they hatch, I have been looking forward to this film since I heard about it. I think a twist on the classic tale sounds fascinating. As for all the controversy surrounding it: I think it maybe taken a little too seriously. I'm glad the Disney studio is taking their time to process all the right elements and still hope to please audiences. I think they recognize how important this project will be for the future in 2-D animation. I just hope it will work out for the best. (Fingers are Crossed)

So do I, I'm looking forward to and I think the twist is going to be good. The people who are complaining about the twist have to realize its not the Frog Princess anymore but The Princess and the Frog to show its going to be different. I can't wait for the 2-D animation, and this might depend if they continue with it or not so I'm hoping for the best.

Ok. *deep breath* I read that article that was posted on the Jim Hill website, and I must say Im slightly put out (to put it mildly). People are making such a big deal out of this. ITS A KIDS MOVIE FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!!! Children aren't going to see this as oppresive to african-american people! All they see is a lovely fairytale, not unlike Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. For the parents who think that it was so oppresive, get a life! Ok, so "Maddie" (as she was originally known) was supposed to work as a chamber maid right? So I ask all of you: how is this any different than Cinderella? She started out as a servant and ended up as a Princess (and as far as I can see, "Maddie" will end up doing the same thing). Why is acceptable for Cinderella but not for this movie? Hmmmm? Also, being in the slave era: Parents! You cant protect your children forever! Eventually they will learn about that time in History, no matter what happend during it, so please just grow up. Wouldnt you rather see it in a charming disney movie rather than read it in a subjective textbook? Next: The Princess and the Frog. Why are people so upset that it was origanlly called The Frog Princess? I am at least a third french and I dont find it the least bit offensive. I actually find it cute. Not too long, yet it defines the whole movie. Lastly: Maddie. I honestly dont see the problem with this name. Its cute! In my mind, it defines the character as perky and energetic. True, I think Tiana is an adorable name for her and is suited for a princess, but if they had left it as Maddie, I would have been perfectly content. All-in-all I think people are making WAY too big of a deal about this. Those are my opinions! Thanks for reading. Overall, I am still looking forward to this movie and the return of 2-D animation. *gasps for air*
