I will probably be seeing this, too. *gasp* I know. After years of "That doesn't look too good."

There's an interesting article over at Jim Hill Media about some issues Disney is having with the PC police who are freaking out over a film that isn't even done yet. They've changed the name to The Princess and the Frog. For more, click here.

I've tried something else that didn't work, so here's the hard way to check. www.jimhillmedia.comOnce there, click on the article titled Why for is Disney already doing damage control on The Princess and the Frog.

I am so tired of everything having to be politically correct. It is so frustrating, and the kids that see these movies aren't going to be thinking like that, at least most of them won't the will just be excited about a new movie!

Political correctness is way out of hand. What should be something to celebrate is now mired in controversy because some people are passing judgment on a film that is still a work in progress.

it really has, i think it is ridiculous that there is already this much controversy over a movie that no one has seen or even knows what it is about beyond the barest of details. It should be celebrated, this is a monumrntal movie in more ways than one!

Especially because it features an African-American heroine/Princess in a return to the animation style that made Disney a household name. This could be a film as important as Snow White or The Little Mermaid because of what it means for Disney animation.

Yeah I can't wait to see this movie, I sounds like it will be adorable and a possible addition to the Disney Princesses collection maybe even become another classic like Snow White and Cinderella.

I heard on IMDB a while back that Corinne Bailey Rae has been confirmed in the role of Maddie. Not a very princess-ish name, i must say!! I dont see why it matters that the princess is black - they have had non-white princesses before. But still, it will be worth a look. There is uproar on IMDB messageboards about the film being set in 1920's new orleans as its the most oppressed period of time in american black history or somesuch nonsense. Reading that article it appears te priness's name will be Tiana not Maddy. Which is better and will probably sell more merchandise.
