Only five more days until the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack is available. Yay! Although it may change through the course of the next few months. So far Toy Story 3 is my favorite film I've seen at the Cinema this year.

Ladies and gentlemen. I have good news and bad news in regards to the Golden Globe nominations for this film. On the plus side Toy Story 3 has been nominated for Best Animated film. It would be a crime if this film lost in this catagory. (Even if I do love HTTYD very much) This was in a class all by itself. Which leads to my next paragraph. The not so-thrilled topic I need to talk about. Be prepared to be reading a ranting.
I would let it slide that Toy Story 3 isn't nominated for Best Musical or Comedy if it were actually up against films that worthy of being called "Instant Classics". But the fact is it's not! This tremendously made film actually lost a nomination to films that were garbage. In what galaxy is The Tourist or Burlesque a better film then this?! This is so absurd I'm literally going to write a very descriptive letter to the Foreign Press Association. Toy Story 3 had nailed every apsect of filmmaking to perfection. From the well balenced and emotionally engaging story, to the colorful and distinctive character development, to finally the stunning visuals. I just hope the members of the Academy Awards are intelligent enough to realize this film deserves every piece of recognition. I'm honestly starting to believe this film is just as wonderful (if not better) then Beauty and the Beast. Therefore should be ranked just as high on the critical acclaim scale.

Toy Story 3 is a better film than "Wall-E" and "Up" in that it succeeds completely in conventional terms. For 103 minutes, it never takes audience interest for granted. It has action, horror and vivid characters, and it always keeps moving forward.

Silver, that is precisely why I think so many awards shows are a whole lot of fluff. Don't get me wrong as I like it when truly deserving films win, but there are times when they totally miss the point.

I'm not saying all the critics or Awards shows are like this. In fact, I do agree with many of their choices as far as the Drama and performance catagories are concerned.
However, with this circumstance I'm not pleased. Toy Story 3 has been one of the top choices among the "Best Films of the Year" on several critics lists. While films like The Tourist and Burlesque were slammed. So there's no rhyme or reason Toy Story 3 should be snubbed. It makes no sense at all!

I concur with that. ^^ In fact I'd not only call it my favorite movie of the year. I've declared it my "Favorite Pixar Film!" And it's easily one of the most well-made so it deserves this critical acclaim, finacial success and fan response.

Same here! It was absolutely wonderful to see in theatres. To be honest I wasn't expecting much from the third installment in the series. It really was a great movie. I bought it on DVD as soon as it came out.
