this is really exciting news for me. Magic Kingdom is bring back the Main Street Electrical parade! I loved seeing that as a kid and was disappointed when they get rid of it. I don't know however if it is coming back for good or if it just for the summer Nightastic thing they have now.
But I am so excited! the smell of a bon fire and the main street electrical parade bring me back to my good ol' childhood days. I even have the CD
Does anyone else remember the parade and liked it? Is anyone planning on going to see it this time around?

I just saw it last year at Disney's California Adventure. I'd love to see it return home to Disneyland someday, but we'll see if that ever happens. It's one of my all time favorite Disney parades.
It will not be returning to the Magic Kingdom permanently. The version running at the MK currently made its' debut in Anaheim last summer. Because of the anticipated high crowds at DCA this summer for the debut of World of Color and the massive construction projects taking place all over DCA, they decided to loan the parade to the MK for a year or two. Apparently, Anaheim was very adamant that the contract letting the parade go to Florida was only good for 1 or 2 years.
Nobody is really quite sure about the length of the contract, just that the parade will be coming back to Anaheim at some point.

1 or 2 years? that is not very long at all! It has been in California since 2001! I think we should have it 10 years too

Well, it originated in Disneyland in the early 70s and ran there until the late 1990s. A couple of years after it's Disneyland debut, the Magic Kingdom received a clone of the MSEP where it ran there until the early 90s when it was replaced by SpectroMagic.
The MSEP even ran in New York as part of the ad campaign to roll out Hercules in 1997.
