Disneyland's latest news is the opening of "World of Color", a night time water show demonstrating Disney movies, music, and art through the use of color and water effects. disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/disneyscaliforniaadventure/index?name=DCAPreview&bhcp=1#p=VideosWorldOfColorIt actually opens in Disneyland's California Adventure officially this Friday, June 11, but I had the opportunity to see a premiere of it last night. It was similar to the show "Fantasmic" in that it is projected onto screens of water, but instead of a story being told and acted out with a plot it is mostly just to show off the amazing water spectacular. I was extremely impressed by the magnitude of the quality of the production, with the blending of the musical medley and the movie scene transitions. If you stand close to the water's edge you will get sprayed with water quite a bit, but that seemed to just be part of it. I stood off to the side and it was kind of already raining/misting so the projection of the movie scenes weren't entirely clear, but I still got the point. It lasted a good 27 minutes or so but it was well worth it and I can't wait to see it again. If anyone is traveling to DCA this summer I highly recommend spending time to watch even just a part of this brilliant new Disney masterpiece.

That's so cool you got to see World of Color. I cannot wait to see the it. I think I'm going down around the 4th of July weekend.

How lucky! I can't wait to see it. I think I'm going to wait for a while to see it, the crowds must be unbelievable for this show.

I've got my dinner reservations for July 3. I'm going to try and catch the show at least one other night when I'm down there, but I've gone one showing guaranteed. I liked what I saw on the live stream that Disney had for the world premiere, but I also think I barely saw what the show is really about.

I was kind of surprised in that it didn't really have a plot like Fantasmic but was basically just an opportunity to show off the cool stuff they could do with water, fire, and lights. As for the crowds, I haven't stayed in the park at night to find out, but I do know that when I went last week the Grizzly Rapids fast past area was turned into a ticket place for World of Color, so if they are still doing that you may want to check that out. I think it just allows you to have a standing spot in a good area so you don't have to camp there all day

My understanding is that at one point there was a more comprehensive story, but over time, it got slowly edited out as they made assorted changes to the show.

A couple nights ago, I stayed at the Paradise Pier with my church youth group. We were lucky enough to get a suite with the most GORGEOUS view into California Adventure. We were able to watch the entire World of Color show from our window. It blew my mind, despite the fact that it was hard to see the projections on the water screens. I applaud the Disney imagineers

I saw it twice while at Disneyland. It definitely lived up to the Disney namesake. In a word, it was brilliant. Not quite up to Fantasmic standards, but spectacular just the same. The combination of lasors, projections, and color were done well. The only spiff I have with the show is *SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERS* when Mufasa dies and then So Close comes on. ...um...what? Uh, ok. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but it's your show....
Overall, I think it's a wonderful addition to the Disney parks. It makes me very, very happy that California Adventure is finally (albeit slowly) morphing into a true Disney park, complete with a night show (which it desperately needed) that is both new and inventive. To any who are considering going, you won't be disappointed.
