I rediscovered this show today. It's pretty good, similar to the Aladdin series, with a mix of action and comedy. Unlike Aladdin, which is set after the first two movies, but before the third, Hercules the Animated Series is a midquel, set during Hercules's training with Phil. (Incidentally, there is a cross-over episode called Hercules and the Arabian Night. It's great.)
Like the movie, the series provides it's own unique spin on Greek mythology, and many famous characters from the myths appear in the series, including Icarus and Cassandra, who are Hercules's good friends in the show.
My main quibble with the show was the fact that Hades knew Hercules was alive, even though in the movie he thinks Hercules is dead. Don't get me wrong, I love that they included Hades, but I wish there was an explanation for this.
What are your thoughts on the show?

I adore the show! I even have some of the episodes on DVD thanks to a friend of mine.
I didn't have a problem with it at all. Not even with hades knowing about Herc being alive. If they had not included hades then the show would not even had gone past three episodes in my personal opinion. There are just so many interesting bad guys and stories you can come up with using Greek myths and keeping them G rated.
Anyone that truely dives into Greek mythologly can tell you it can be rather grusome, and X rated.
They did a good job, and the morals that came out of the stories were quite nice.

I remember it being shown on a Saturday morning over here a good many years ago. It wasn't a show I'd have turned off but it wasn't a show I'd have paid much attention to either.

I remember it used to be on tv here just before I left school. It often made me late to school Being a massive muses fan, I LOVED how they kept them involved still with their narrative songs. They could've done better with them but I'm just glad they were included. This show was awesome! They need to make more episodes for it!

I remember watching it on Toon Disney. It was okay I guess, but I am not missing it.

I didn't enjoy this series as much as I did the Aladdin series, but it was still fun enough in it's own way
