I love how they're calling it an Un-Anniversary Edition since they so frequently release assorted anniversary editions of their older films. It's a nice touch.
I probably won't buy this release. I already own the previous DVD release of this film and the bonus features don't appeal to me enough to get this film. If it were being released in blu-ray, I may reconsider my position.

Hmm I wasn't a big fan of the animated version of Alice in Wonderland. I like to collect all the special anniversary editions but there have been a few that I have passed on because I already have them on VHS and if I didn't really like it I see no point in up grading it to DVD.
To me it seems like it might be a money grab for Disney to release it at the same time as Tim Burton's Alice movie. OR they want to introduce younger audiences to Disney's original masterpiece. *shrugs*

I'll probably get this, even if it is an obvious attempt to cash in on Tim Burton's movie. I don't think I own this already.

It's a combination of both. They're obviously trying to capitalize on the hype surrounding the Tim Burton movie, but it's also been a long time since they released the film on DVD (and their prior release was more than just a bare bones release). What's most telling to me about where the movie stands in the annals of Disney is that they're not releasing it on blu-ray.

I'm a big fan of Disney's orginial Alice in Wonderland but I probably won't get this, since I already have it on DVD. But it's nice to see them releasing it again though, even if they are just doing it to get money for Burton's Alice.

In fairness to Disney, I don't see this as a complete money grab. It's been a very long time since they're released Alice in Wonderland on DVD, so they're certainly justified in letting it out of the vault. Furthermore, it sounds like they're putting some nice bonus features on the DVD instead of just re-releasing the old version. The way I see it, they're making this movie available to fans who may have missed it the first time out or parents who may not want to take their children to see a Tim Burton film.
