I've been to Disney World before but my last trip, as of October, was very odd to say the least. I felt a bit like Alice there.
To start off with I had to go the week WDW started experiencing computer problems. One day several of their computers completely shut off leaving certain people in line angry and frustrated. I was in line for The Dinosaur ride. It would have been my first ride on this trip. Would have been.
Me and around 60-70 people stood in line as the Cast Members assured us the ride would be up and running very soon. Suddenly the lights flickered on, there was a sigh of relief and then they went back off. You can imagine the groans.
All in all we probably spent an hour in that line waiting. Did I mention I was right at the gate? So tantalizingly close the buggy. In the end the Cast Members admitted defeat and gave everyone a fast pass to come back later.
This whole standing in line thing only to be disappointed because of an unruly computer happened more than once. About four times. Worst of all it caused me to miss my beloved The Haunted Mansion.
I fell face first onto concert outside of an Epcot store (I admit it, I was happy to see Donald Duck) and then proceeded to lose my twenty dollar pen to the depths of Epcot's Underworld. And the resort that I know like the back of my own hand, The All-Star Movies Resort is where I got lost for a good fifteen minutes much the amusement of my friends.
Of course there are other things I could tell you but my retelling wouldn't do justice for some of the strange individuals and events that took place that long week so I won't try. I will however say Primeval Whirl attracts a lot of the loons and had to be stopped for some time because some girl got her leg, well thigh really, in the railing...Yeah.
Of course none of these things made my trip bad. Just different and weird (Ironically I got to take a picture with Alice for the first time ever during that weird trip) yet at other times I felt very lucky. I got Front Row in the Festival of The Lion King sheerly out of luck. I got into Rockin' Rollercoaster in record time. I was able to dine at The Coral Reef which is usually booked weeks and weeks in advance.
I must compare this trip to Alice and her adventures. It was weird, and surreal for some reasons I've yet to place yet was enchanting and interesting.
My conclusion: There was something seriously wrong with the water that week
