I understand what you mean Athena. I think some people have a spoon-fed preception of some animals from the media and fail to see what the creature is really all about. In the case of the Orca they're very complex but are still predatory hunters who have to survive the harsh elements of nature. They build a strong social structure with their pod and devise what seems to us clever if not scary tactics to kill and devour their prey. But I'm sure to them it's just another day of hunting and eating just like anyother animal. As for why they'd be willing to be genlte playful with some humans is left unresoved. There's different theories but none of it is concrete.
I'll be sure to check out that book. It sounds fascinating!
In general, how do feel about the topic of Extra- Terrestrials?

Do you have any holiday traditions? As in Christmas etc? We don't really 'celebrate' Christmas. It's often just having dinner, with food we normally don't buy and watch films and play board games all day, if my parents don't have to wrok during christmas xD. So we don't have real traditions for that. On of my own, more recent traditions is listening to the Top 2000 on the radio, which broadcasts non stop the 2000 songs choosen by public, mostly from the 60's, 79's and 80's. Immense nostalgia . That is aired between the 26th of december starting at 00:00 till the 31st of december midnight. The radio is permanently turned on during that week For the rest no special traditions or whatsoever. @ Silver: The 'problem' in the first issue is more that people just assume everything indeed and don't take the time to sort things out to check if the media or a person is indeed correct or is talking to reach a broad public. Extra-terrestrials... I think the UFO stuff (including grain circles etc) is a bit farfetched and I think the overall view of extra ter. is a bit.... commercialized and overhyped at some moments. In this case I always ignore it, if there's news about new cropmarks, claimed to be made by something ET, because they can also be created by the simple facts of (human) disturbances in the soil etc xD But I do assume that there is a possibility that there's life on other planets, that could be just simple unicellular creatures, because on some planets the elements that are needed to be able to create life are in fact findable, so it could be possible that there's somehow life. But I don't share the idea of weir martians etc xD

That... the geographical area excists xD, but that some points on the disappearance of planes/ships are a bit ot of context. There are not many more losses in that area than other oceanic regions and the ET part is.... slightly farfetched xD
But I do have to note that I never really paid attention to this subject, so I can't say that many accurate things on this topic.

Thank you, thank you About your question: no prob of answering it. Though I'd rather not use the word atheist too soon, but rather agnostic instead . At first I didn't really decide to be agnostic, it was just that I was raised that way, though as I said in the religion thread, I did have some sunday school etc. But somehow for me it just didn't sound very logical, all the stuff about one absolute power. From when I was a kid I more or less already assumed that there had to something else, that seemed more logical, the evolution etc. My parents would've given me a choich if I wanted to be christian, but I decided myself not to. So in short the story would be that I'm not raised with the ideas of the excistence of a divinity and that nature has managed the world etc by itself (somehow, don't ask me to explain everything in detail, which I ofcourse can't ). For me the scientific part suits me better.

Oh my mistake. I just read in the Religion thread that you called your belief system athiest. But it's fine by me. I'm agnostic too! What sort of reactions do you recieve when people in general ask you about your belief system?

What sort of reactions do you recieve when people in general ask you about your belief system? That differs quite with every person who asks. Some people who are devoted christian sort of disapprove, while others just can get along with it. To avoid complications, I often try to avoid such topics . I only enter a discussion on such topics when I know I can't hurt someone with my opinions. Like in my hometown, it's better not to mention that you're agnostic, because the majority is christian and don't always act in a normal way if they know you're not. Complicated sometimes @ Barkydog: m absolute fav is... Phil Collins. I have 6 of his 7 albums (I only miss Testify) and 3 concert dvds . My fandom started of, as often, with some of the popular songs (like Against all odds, can't stop loving you, you can't hurry love, something happened on the way to heaven etc), but I decided to buy the albums. Tho for some it took a while to really like it xD In general I really like his voice and the fact that on one of his albums (Both Sides) he played all the instruments himself, written all the lyrics etc . That's what I really appreciate in an artist. And.. he has the 80's and 90's sound

The term "complicated" is quite frequent in my life. I know it well and have an idea on how it feels when asked. I Love Phil Collins too! Do you have a favorite song from Tarzan or Brother Bear? (I'm a especially a sucker for his Disney projects)

Yeah! cool ^^ Man, don't ask such difficult questions . I too love his Disney work ofcourse , but I'm a bit more fond of his songs in Brother Bear, especially... Look Through My Eyes And if you have to get happy.. On my way That song guided us through our seiving work on one of the excavations , and because we were in Germany, we tried to sing the German version, but... we knew the English better somehow...

Silver: Overaal more of a guy's girl , tho I'm starting to develop some 'real' girl's girl traits , as in watching girls films/ reading girls books, which I usually don't Lexi: Yeah, I do like it, but not everything of it , it's actually with most of the songs that you have to hear it quite frequent to start to like the songs (doesn't count for every song, but quite a lot ), and there's quite a style difference, if you compare Trick of the Tail (one of the first Phil/Genesis albums), to Invisible Touch or We Can't Dance, where TotT is still a bit progressive rock-ish, while the other 2 are quite pop. I like most songs of I T and WCD, for the other songs it's a bit random.

So you get along easier with guys as opposed to girls? If so why do you think that is?
