I dont recall seeing a thread about this film anywhere on here so thought Id start one I love this film and has beautiful songs (aklthough I never got all the gype about "If I Never Knew You" which never seemed to fit into the rest of the film or te syle of the other songs.) And gorgeous animation as well as memorable characters.

Even though it's historically incorrect, I completely agree - the movie is amazing!!
The animation is great and the message itself that it gives out is very memorable and powerful.

I love this moive and I love the ending as well. Its always nice to see a bittersweet ending once in awhile. I think that Disney should do more of them. The music of course as everyone mentioned is great. There isn't a song in this film that I don't like. I also love the characters, all of them are interesting even without Pocahontas and John Smith.

I really like this one as well. The historical inaccuracies bother me, but that is because i love history. The Bittersweet ending made the story more touching. Grandmother Willow cracked me up!

Pocohontas has a lot of lessons; it's a beautiful movie with some great songs. It could use a little more humor. Meeko and Flit are funny, and John Smith has some good lines, but it's a [i[little[/i] too serious for my tastes.
The last few lines of Drums of War give me chills! So beautiful

Not my favorite in the bunch but an enjoyable piece none the less. Pocahontas is an extrodinary heroine. She doesn't show any damsel in distress moments. (At least from what I saw.) John Smith may have started off arrogant but he's a gentleman through and through. The music is so lovely! One of Alan Menken's best scores. I wasn't expecting any real accuracies so that was never an issue for me. (But I love The New World!) And the bittersweet ending was probably the iceing on the cake. A good to film to pick out every once in awhile.

This is one of the films I loved from the moment it came out. The storyline was good although like others have said, historically inaacurate and I thought the voice cast was very good.
The songs in this film are all excellent and are an important part of the film.

^^ Hehe.
So this movie is like my second favorite, for everything you all said above. I kind of don't like the song "Mine, Mine, Mine", and I definitely don't like this villain, and John Smith isn't my favorite guy. That being said, I feel it is a beautiful movie. It is unique from all other Disney movies, and I love how it's so wild, without having the talking animals. It seems more realistic than other movies (because it was sort of based on history). I can't think of any other Disney movie that uses Native Americans, or a love story quite like Pocahontas. The messages this movie brings to the screen are so real to me, that I find it hard not to fall in love with it.
