The “legend” has it that if you ride it’s a small world at Disney World or Disneyland, the song will stay in your head forever. After the World’s Fair ended, it’s a small world was moved to Disneyland, where it remains one of the park’s premiere attractions. It has also been a staple of Disney World since 1971. While the exterior of Disneyland’s version has undergone changes, some good, some bad, Disney World’s version has remained stuck in 1971. There has been some minor modifications, but for the most part it has remained that brightly colored attraction that people love and love to hate, until very recently. The ride itself has been brought back to its original splendor. (After 33 years, some of those kids were looking a bit raggedy). They have new costumes, new wigs and new paint. If they originally sparkled, they sparkle again. The mechanics of the ride have also been updated. The click clacking noise often heard in the past is gone.. In addition, the soundtrack has been restored as well. The sound is crisp and clear. And the best part….all the visible wear and tear on the building itself, that has been so apparent….has been fixed. It’s like a brand new attraction. www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/magickingdom/fan-small.htm

I didn't get to see the refurbished product. But I am a fan of the attraction. And the song is wonderful!! Richard and Robert Sherman. :notworthy:

I've heard the song on one of my Disney music CDs and it does get stuck in your head for hours on end. I usually end up annoying people when I sing it.

I remember that ride. I've been to "It's a Small World" ride 11 years ago when I was at Disney World and I love it. That song has been stuck in my head so many times. I do have the vinyl of that featuring an audio tour done by Winston Hibler, the guy who did the Disney's "True-Life Adventures" series. I had the record since I was a kid, but I lost it. Instead someone gave me the record and it was great. I still have it. Here is an album cover of "It's a Small World".

This seems like one of those rides that you would only ride once and that's enough

While I like the ride, it becomes horrifying when you go on it back to back times without even leaving the boat.

I loved this ride it was so cute but the song got a bit much after a while. There was a really long queue for this when I went to Disneyland Paris so I guess that must mean something.

I really enjoyed this ride. I've been on it twice. Once when I was 8 and again when I was 20. It feels more magical when you are younger but it's still an enjoyable ride.

It's an adorable ride but man that song!!! IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL!!! It gets stuck in your head and sits there incubating into an atrocity! LOL small world indeed...

I've got that song on CD. I got it free with a breakfast cereal just after I visited Disneyland Paris for the first time.

What I love about it at Disneyland, is the big "castle"-like appearance to the ride. It's awesome. And how they decorate it for the holidays - it's soo pretty.
But, the thing is, when we went to Florida, and we went on "It's a Small World"....it's pathetic. We were really disappointed. It looked like any ordinary Disney ride on the outside. It would brake any "Disneyland-er"s heart to look at Disney World's version of "It's a Small World".
*stops the whole drama scene*
