In recent years, the sports drama has been a staple of Disney's live action department. Beginning with the fall 2000 blockbuster, Remember the Titans, the studio has cultivated inspiring true stories and put them on screen to favorable reviews and modest box office success (The Rookie, Miracle). A period golf drama like this film, though, may have a tougher time drawing an audience. Shia LaBeouf ("Even Stevens", Holes) stars as 20-year-old Francis Ouimet, who shocked the golf world in 1913 by defeating his idol, British champion Harry Vardon, and winning the US Open. In supporting roles, Elias Koteas and newcomer Peyton List play Francis' hardworking father and love interest, respectively. The Greatest Game Ever Played is adapted by Mark Frost from his own book and directed by Bill Paxton. Originally slated for a spring release, the film will now open in a reasonable number of theaters on September 30th. Taken from - www.ultimatedisney.com/intheaters.html

Again i don't know. I don't really like movies that are like this. Not because they're sports movies, more because i just find them not interesting and boring

I saw a preview for this movie when I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tonight. This movie looks really good. The story is explained much better in the trailer. It looks really really good. I recomend watching the trailer before passing judgement on this movie.

I've seen rumblings about this one, but no trailers yet. I generally like well made sports movies, and that includes golf ones.

I don't know if I would call a movie about golf a "sport" movie (I know some people want to kill me now lol). Regaurdless, I thought it looked like a really good movie, and I, like most of you, detest sports movies. My brother is a HUGE gold fan so I think I might treat him to it.

I'm expecting this to be a good film. Shia Lebeauf is an awesome actor. And the look of the film is awesome. I love period pictures. And the film looks like it has a wonderful quality.

Seeing as this is almost out of theatres or isn't playing anymore we can continue discussion on this movie in the Disney Theatre.
