I thought this was pretty great, and I'm not a huge Sleeping Beauty fan! Click Here

"Her eyebrow game is ON POINT"
Haha, I love this! I really like the reasoning behind why she didn't have a villain song either. I've always wanted one, but it makes sense if she's trying to plot her evil ways!

Those reasons made me smile. And they also pointed out why Angelina Jolie has a tough act to follow. Animator Marc Davis and voice actress Eleanor Audley hit a home run with that villain.
And because I feel like being a Disney history geek right now, it's only the more recent films where we see the villain almost always get a song. None of the villains in the fairy tales Walt Disney made into movies got a song. And Sleeping Beauty barely has one full song and 3 really short songs. Most of the other music in that film is from the score.
Don't get me wrong as villain songs can sometimes be arguably the best songs in the films. I just think that a full blown musical in Sleeping Beauty doesn't fit the story they told.

As much as I would LOVE Maleficent to have an amazing villain song the way Ursula and Scar did, it really wouldn't fit her as a character. She really did have no time for a song, all she wanted to do was get her revenge. Ursula and Scar are both extremely animated with the way they act, their villain songs fit them perfectly, I think the score does it's own justice when Maleficent appears.
