So we finally have a title to put to an idea!
This will be Pixar's film after The Good Dinosaur. Directed by Pete Docter (Monsters Inc), it goes inside the mind of an 11 year old girl. The voice talents include Mindy Kaling (Disgust), Lewis Black (Anger), Bill Hader (Fear), Amy Poehler (Joy), and Phyllis Smith ( Sadness) who will all be voicing emotions inside of the main character - Riley.
Sounds very out there! The idea sounds great, the voice cast I'm not sold on, whilst I love Bill Hader and Amy Poehler, their voices seem more akin to Dreamworks or Illumination projects.
All in all, this sounds very exciting!
It also sounds slightly similar to a strip in the UK's Beano called The Numbskulls! (Check it out if you have chance).
Thoughts?

An original film from Pixar is always something to get excited about in my book.

Sounds interesting. I'd like to know more about the plot, but I like the premise.

Fascinating. This concept reminds me a little of Osmosis Jones. Only instead of being told from the perspective of micro-organisims, it's emotions. I like the idea but still wish to hear about the actual story like Butters said.

I'm with Silver... It does remind me of an "emotional" version if Osmosis Jones. And I love Amy Poehler. However, I really do want to know what the actual plot is before I decide yes or no.

Hmm, this looks interesting. As Silver said, it does have that Osmosis Jones vibe. I'd like to hear more about it when more information is released

Here is the plot, as taken from Wikipedia: " Riley, the once happy-go-lucky pre-teen, is uprooted from her pleasant life in Minnesota and thrust into a new, unwelcome existence in San Francisco. That's when the emotions take over, much to the chagrin of her baffled parents. Anger, Disgust, Fear, Sadness and Joy spar, collaborate and miscommunicate with one another in an attempt to keep her functioning, and find new friends. This sounds okay to me. Glad to see an original movie. However, I don't think this will necessarily be a theater sounding experience for me. I guess I will have to wait until it comes out and hear the reviews first. The current release date is June 19th, 2015.

Ari- Thank you for the updated information. Appriciate it!
I'm split. It has real potential but my viewings of Osmosis Jones seem to be stuck in my head. I hope that it doesn't inflict my feelings for the film itself.
I'll just wait and see what comes of it.

A teaser has been released. To this point, the teaser plays off our emotions from past Pixar films. But it still has me excited to see it. It is Pixar, after all.

Here is what Pixar's official website has to say about this film: Here is a teaser trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=1t0A_tZGrYwAnd an image of Riley's emotions: It seems this summary is one given just about everywhere. I'll agree with the lot that it does sound like a emotion focused version of Osmosis Jones, a film I'm not a fan of but this sounds very clever. I'd actually had the idea at first that it would focus on imaginary characters dreamed up by the girl, this is the first I'm hearing of it being personified emotions but that's even more interesting. Pixar has never let me down even with it's sequels and I appreciate how unlike Disney they never seem to run out of unique and clever original ideas. This one seems to go above an beyond their usual atmosphere, a lot of depth is promised by this exploration of the mindset of a young girl. So I'm looking forward to this film.

In with everyone else here when I say Pixar has yet to disappoint me yet. Everything they have done has come out on top. The teaser is adorable. The characters are adorable. The cast is star studded. I'm giving it a fighting chance!

I hadn't heard of anything similar to this, so I was pretty surprised when I saw the trailer in Big Hero 6. Then in Into the Woods they played a longer trailer, which included the emotions controlling Riley and her parents. It was pretty funny! I'm sure it'll be good
