In your opinion, which is the most romantic song in Disney's catalogue and why? And in your eyes, what makes it romantic? Is it the lyrics, the scene within which it plays out or is it the instruments used? What do you reckon?

"Something There" from Beauty and the Beast. Its so adorable, the first inklings of love. The emotions that get displayed through it are just so perfect. To me its the most romantic Disney song. [/blockquote]

Probably "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" It's wonderful and the scene in which it's played makes it romantic for me. Getting to watch 2 lions fall in love.

My answer may surprise people, but I have a tie between Once Upon a Dream and I See the Light.
I love the lush forest setting of Once Upon a Dream and the humor of the forest creatures pretending to be Briar Rose's dream prince. But then you throw in the sheer romanticism of the lyrics and the beautiful voice of Mary Costa and top it all off with the famous Disney choir providing the finale as they dance in the woods and there's something romantic and magical about it.
But I can also argue that the lyrics of I See The Light are so powerful as this song culminates the friendship turning to romance between Flynn and Rapunzel. Then it tops off with the stunning sequence of the floating lanterns.
I would probably rank those two scenes as my personal favorites in hand drawn animation and computer animation. They encapsulate to me the magic and artistry of Disney animation.

A Whole New World holds on to the title of "My favorite romantic duet from Disney". Cheeky, soaring, sincere, unconventional and super sweet in it's delivery. I adore it to pieces.

I adore "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid. Perhaps it is because I just love Sebastian's Rastafarian voice. A close runner up is "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. Super romantic.

Horray! One more fan of A Whole New World. I'm happy to include a new song from the Aladdin musical as an intsant favorite. It's titled A Million Miles Away. Much like it's predecessor. It's a clever love song that is aspirational but never states the word love in it's lyrics. Merely suggested in the text. I appriciate writers who are not afraid to be edgy and mix in tone rather then directly tell the audience. That's true poetry. I think the singers are fantsic as well. The essance of the film while not falling into the formalic zone of carbon copy.
