I heard from lots of people that this might be Pixar's first bomb. What do you guys think? I remember hearing and reading the same "bomb" rumors about Ratatouille and WALL-E. Some people just like to say things to get a reaction (and maybe drive hits on their website up). Nobody outside Pixar really knows what this movie will be like. As I've said before, I trust Pixar and have high hopes for this one. For a while I though that the "next" Pixar movie would be the end of their run, but then I loved Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles. I've learned that I will trust Pixar until they let me down.

I do have to say, I do not know if they really can do better than WALL-E. I don;t think the movie will bomb, but I don't think it will do as well as WALL-E.

There are some people who claim that every Pixar film since Finding Nemo has bombed because they did not come close to matching Nemo's insanely high box office take.
In my opinion, WALL-E is the best film Pixar has ever made. It will be difficult for Up to top that in my mind. However, my previous Pixar favorite was The Incredibles, and obviously that meant that I didn't like Cars and Rataouille as much as The Incredibles. That in no way diminished my enjoyment of those two films. Likewise, it's entirely possible that I could see Up and declare that it's my favorite.
It is along those lines that I will judge Up. I expect it to entertain me for a couple of hours and have me walking out of the theater saying that I really enjoyed it and that Pixar has done it again. I wouldn't be surprised if Up has a better box office run than WALL-E though due to some differences it has.

I think "Up" looks completley precious! I'll so be there opening weekend. It just looks like I'll leave the theater very happy and giddy. And no disrespect towards Pixar's other projects (Since they're "Out of-this World") but I find it refreshing to see a film of theirs made about normal people. It'll interesting to see how the relationship progresses between Carl and Russel. Especially since it appears Mr. Fredrickson is not fond of children. R- "Mr. Fredrickson may I please come in?" [Pause] CF- "NO!" [Slams the door] That's terribly funny! Looking forward to it!

My sentiments exactly Silver! I think it's a good progression for Pixar to handle humans in all their glory in one of their films. Should be good

I've just seen another updated trailer from this film. Still looks cute as ever. I already love the dog with the translating collar. "Hey there! My master programmed this collar, so you can understand me and- "Squirrel!" Hi there!" That is just hilarious. The story looks like it has so many laughs and adventures. But I can't help but notice how the films slightly resmebles "TailSpin". With the air pirates, lost in the wilderness, and the strange creatures both Carl and Russel encounter. But that's fine with me because I love TailSpin! Can't wait for summer just because this film is on the top of my list right now.

For me, this is the first Pixar film that I've thought looked interesting from the trailers since The Incredibles. I didn't think the trailers for Cars, Ratatoulle or Wall-E looked interesting. I was right about Cars, but so wrong about Wall-E. (Haven't seen Ratatouielle yet, waiting for it to air on cable)
I'm looking forward to this a lot! ;D

Of course I love just about anything that has to deal with dogs. >.>;; When I first saw that it reminded me of my dog. She loves chasing squirrels. Anyway, I wasn't sure about movie when I first saw the teasers. Heck, I was hanging out with someone on campus who has a list of movies she wants to see this year and right next to "Up" she has "It's Pixar". After seeing the newest trailer I can't wait to see what kind a story is in store for us. I hope Pixar doesn't let us down for the first time. I've always thought TailSpin was like Porco Rosso with all the air pirates. (That was after I got to see Porco Rosso.) Though now that I'm looking at dates here TailSpin did come out first. Still, there is a high chance that Pixar got air pirate inspiration from Porco Rosso since it's a Miyazaki film.

Bomb is usually box office and sometimes viewer ratings and opinions.
My opinion on the anticipation for Up has changed now that I have seen so many clips and the trailers. I think it could be extremely adorable. My past favorites have been WALL-E and Finding Nemo. I have found that the trailers have given away all the humor in the films but I think Up will deliver more humor than the trailers have shown.

I am still excited about Up, but I am a little scared too. I just saw that it was going to be in 3D and I hope they don't jeperdize the story to fit in 3D effects.. this is my only concern.

Thats right. I forgot it would be in 3-D. Lets just hope that it helps the story, and not hurt it

Given Pixar's obsession with story, I will be absolutely shocked if this film is merely a vehicle for 3-D gags. That's not Pixar's style.
