I agree Butters! This is my family's favorite Disney movie. We can all gather around and just burst into hystarics. There's a very unusual wit to this film that I think is appriciated by certain people. This is not sophisticated humor or innocent humor which is what most of the other Disney films have. Normally I shy away from this kind of humor, but this one managed to break my shell. And I can't get bored with it. My best friend and I can still recite the whole movie.

I have to agree as well. Some how, I don't know how, but this is one of the funniest movies! I always laugh at the jokes, no matter how many times I see it. While this isn't one of my top movies, it does rank highly for being able to do that.
I love quoting Yzma's plot to kill Kuzco

This movie is great! I just love it when Yzma turns into a cat. I also like Patrick Warburton as Kronk. His voice makes me smile every time I hear it. And I am not really a big David Spade fan but he really makes me laugh in this movie.

For a while my best friend and I had been very curious as to a mysterious romantic track on the soundtrack for this film, knowing only that it apparently refers to a scrapped storyline. We even attempted once to write to an email address provided by DIsney's official website but only received some stupid auto-response (or rather what seemed to be one) that didn't even acknowledge the inquiry. Well I uncovered the mystery. This film was originally titled 'The Kingdom of the Sun' and was intended as a South American 'Prince and the Pauper' of sorts which revolved mostly around Pacha who instead of heavyset and middle aged was a doppleganger of the emperor. That's right folks, the romantic track 'One Day She'll Love Me' was intended for Pacha not Kuzco. More information about 'The Kingdom of the Sun' here: www.blueskydisney.com/2007/09/was-kingdom-of-sun-more-fun.htmlAnd some small segments of footage from before the story was scrapped: themoviedoc.tumblr.com/post/20047227061/new-groove The tracks 'Walk the Llama Llama' and 'Snuff Out the Light' were also intended for 'Kingdom of the Sun'. In the Blue Sky Disney blog it seems to be a popular opinion among the commenters that 'The Kingdom of the Sun' would have been the better film and had more of a Disney classic feel. While this version of the Pacha character is intriguing I very much enjoyed 'The Emperor's New Groove' and the idea of a selfish emperor who received a very much needed attitude adjustment. And honestly I actually would have preferred to see Kuzco with a love interest if either. One thing I will say is that I think I prefer the 'Kingdom of the Sun' version of Yzma. Such intense darkness her storyline appears to have had. The reduction from that to a simple grudge over being banished is pretty lame. Personally though I don't see why they couldn't have made both films as they are both significantly different from each other. We may never know however why 'The Kingdom Of the Sun' was scrapped, apparently there is a whole documentary of it called 'The Sweatbox' which was never released.

Shenzi- First and foremost. How are you? Haven't seen you in some time. The reason they shut down production on Kingdom of the Sun was due to poor screen testings with executives and a few select audiences. I think as far as they were concerned. The idea of this on paper was better then the execution of the final product. Since I was not there personally I can't say who was correct. This is just my theory. There is always a possibility this idea could be looked at again. Walt Disney had considered doing his own version of The Little Mermaid as early as 1940. He had one of his animators (who worked on Fantasia) do some test shot animation. Walt Disney found it too dark and abstract to move forward on it. Well low and behold that 45 years later TLM director Ron Clements convinced the executives if the right re-tooling was in place. The film idea could become a reality Maybe one day, someone from the Disney company will stumble upon the old script. They'll re-interpret or re-fashion it into an authentic film worth showing to the public.

Interesting information, I hadn't known that of 'The Little Mermaid'. Thank you Silver, it's all good with me. Hopefully Kingdom of the Sun will be reconsidered. Found another segment which is a slightly extended screen test of the Yzma scene including a preview of the 'Snuff Out The Light' performance. www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1VetyaexJs

Oh no. It's happening again. Watched this film yet again in one week's time. This film is addictive. I feel the need to watch it over and over again. The hysterics never get old as far as I'm concerned. I love laughing!

^^I finally have one particular bit of dialogue down without looking it up in IMDB's quote section or watching the film with subtitles.
Waitress- "Ordering! Four pork combos. Extra bacon on the side. Two chilli cheese samples. A basket of liver and onion rings. A catch of the day and a steak cut in the shape of a trout." (Kronk stares in disbelief) "You got all of that honey?"
Kronk- "Three oinkers wearing pants. A split of hot air. A basket of grandma's breakfast and change a bull to a gill. Got it."
I've finally got it! I'm so happy! It took me forever to memorize that. LOL!

Anybody have any favorite lines? Here is mine. Yzma- "That's Kronk. Break the door down!" Kronk- "Break it down? What you kidding me. This is hand carved mahogany."

Mine is:
"For the last time, we didn't order a giant trampoline!"
"Well, you could have told us that before we set it up."
It never fails to crack me up.

I love how that line distracts you from the tension of Yzma falling to her doom. Then sure enough it's put to use as she's flung back up. Hehe!
