Well, let me explain what I mean about the humor. I think the kind of humor in this film is Warner Bros. in style and it's a real shame that Disney used this type of humor. Now, the humor in Aladdin is great!! It's quality humor and it helped with the plot and character development. But the humor in TENG was cheap and took away from the film in my opinion. I didn't like it. But just so y'all know, I'm not against humor in a Disney film. I just think it needs to be quality humor that doesn't take away from the plot. But I guess I'm in the minority with this. I just don't believe Walt would have appreciated this very much.

after all, Disney isnt just about kids!!! Its about time there was a Disney film adults generally can enjoy. The humour is a refreshing change.

I'm surprised at myself for not commenting on this film earlier! But this is probably one of the funniest films Disney has ever made. And this is one of the few Disney movies where the main character was seen as jerk, or even villian. But the story itself is drawn from a comedy sketch with wisecracks thrown in for dialouge purposes. True, it is very similar in style to that of Warner Brothers but I don't see the harm. This is one of the few Disney films everybody in my family loves! My favorite part- the cast! David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and Patrick Warburton were brilliantly put in with their characters. It wouldn't shock me one bit to hear them say they had a blast doing these roles. This is an ideal feel-good movie! Great for every member of the family.

Maybe I should see before I judge, because I've never seen the entire thing, only lots of bits and parts, but I agree with joplin. As I've said I've never seen the whole thing but that was because I've never had a desire to see the entire thing. Personally I've never been into the kind of humor that half of comedey goes by and Disney's humor is generally different and in this movie the humor is more different. (sorry I can't think of the right word, I don't think adult is the right one either). I don't care much for the characters either. One thing I hate in movies is when people make choices or mistakes that are ones you find yourself yelling don't do it, even if they're the choices that make the plots and all of the characters have that at one point. Which for me is very stressful and makes me very annoyed, but that's a me quirk, which I've been trying to get rid of.

I understand why this humor won't suit everybody, but in the end it's the induvidual who will decide the quality. Every person has their own taste and some films just don't entertain or touch someone. For whatever reason whether the story, characters, or even music just doesn't reach them. Which is fine! I confess I'm in the minority when it comes to Beauty and the Beast. But I guess those reasons are what give us diversity. I could watch The Emeror's New Groove several times in a row and still be laughing. Others have no interest. But then it gives us more reason to discuss! (hehe)

That's my view of it. I confess that there are times I wish this film hadn't been made. It embarasses me to be called a Disney fan after this film. But, I'm glad others can appreciate it. I watch it and I may have laughed at the jokes the first time, but now they get on my nerves and I find myself saying, "How dumb can these jokes be?" But, at any rate, it's good that others can enjoy it.

I think the best way to describe the humor in this film is off the wall. It's very slapstick and often entirely random. I enjoy the film a lot, but probably like the sequel better if only because the sequel is focused on Kronk. Patrick Warburton is one of my favorite comedic actors(Puddy in Seinfeld), so I enjoy simply hearing his voice in a madcap sort of way.

For me, this is one of the movies where the jokes actually get funnier over repeated viewings. I'm not sure why the giant trampoline bit gets funnier over time, but it just does.
