I don't know if this is something that happens in other countries but in the UK lately, they've shown nothing but repeats of the same episodes.
This week I've turned on the Disney Channel, and have seen the same Hannah Montana episode three times, the same Wizards of Waverly Place four times and the same As The Bell Rings three times.
Whilst I appreciate that they do need to show repeats, you'd think they'd try to avoid showing the same episodes several times in one week.

Well I actually have not been watching the Disney Channel lately. It just doesn't have adult enjoyable shows anymore like Boy Meets World and Smart Guy. But last time I did watch it was all repeats. There are never new episodes anymore. I mean Wizards is still pretty new and yet it hardly seems to have new episodes.

A lot of what is on the Disney Channel is okay to watch once or twice but because most of the shows seem to be aimed at 7-13 year old girls they get boring very quickly.
My boyfriend's seven year old daughter is a big fan of the Disney Channel but even she gets fed up of the repeats.
They really ought to rethink their programming otherwise people will turn to other channels. I think that the Disney Channel should consider showing episodes of their popular shows in series order like other channels do. That way it would prevent less repeats of the same show over such a short space of time.
I'd like to see some of the older Disney Channel shows on more and more of the classic animated series too.

hah, this is why I totally don't mind not having the disney channel anymore. I got so fed up of watching the same episodes of Lloyd in space and Recess, and such other cartoons, over and over again before I lost it, yes it's been THAT long XD I don't see why they do it, why not play out the whole series instead of the same darn episodes every few days ¬_¬
But saying this, most children's channels do this nowadays, I think (I dont actually ever watch TV XD)

Exactly what happened to me, I became no longer interested and stopped going to the channel, that and I started getting really interested in Animal Planet.
I think this is about the time when bringing back old shows that died a long time ago would be a good idea. I think it would really catch a lot of not only kid/tween but also adult attention.

Disney has it's own scheduling for different seasons. This is now apart of it's slump season. They're gearing up for the new episodes for the start of school. So right now everything is constantly replayed. The season for contemporary episodes is in just the begining of the year, winter crossing to spring, a little past the start of summer, a few weeks after the new school year resumes, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the Holidays. Everything else inbetween is pretty much repeats with the exception of a few specials or random new episodes that appear out of nowhere.
As for why they only show the recent episodes over and over again- I honestly don't know. But I will say if you want the to check out the older episodes be sure to tune in for their afternoon programing rather then the eveing.
And thank you Shenzi for bringing up Animal Planet! You just gave me an idea for a new thread.
