Is the bonus material confirmed by Disney?
Although I think a tribute to Robin Williams is very appropriate for this film.

The Blu-ray most certainly did wonders for films that have been released as part of the "Second Disney Renaissance" in terms of absorbing the visuals and sound. I can't imagine this would be any different. BRP-Yes these are confirmed by Disney executives. Butters- Most of the time. I notice the sequels are released in the spring of the following year. Mostly to become a package deal of some sort. We won't know until later if Disney wishes to continue this pattern.

Probably not. I love Aladdin, but I don't have a blu-ray player and I still have it on dvd from, like, ten years ago, so I think I'll pass.

I most certainly am! One of my favorites of all time in the Disney legacy. The Blu-ray sound and visual quality is off the charts. Plus really looking forward to the Robin Williams tribute and the backstage pass for Aladdin on Broadway.

I never had a chance to get it on DVD last time, so I can't pass it up now. All I have is a commercial free Robin Williams tribute I recorded from the Disney Chanel. But I can't hang on to it forever!
And didn't know about the Broadway special features! Now I'm more excited!

But I can't hang on to it forever! And didn't know about the Broadway special features! Now I'm more excited! Since the release dates were split over ten years. I definitely wouldn't shrug off this opportunity. Come on October 16th!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes. A featurette dedicated to Robin Williams is not to be missed. Then a brief glance at how Broadway's latest mega-hit have been blowing audiences minds. Since I maybe one of those people next year. I'd like insider's sneak peak.

I go back and forth about buying this on blu-ray. If last year is any indication, they may sell this for $10.00 on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving in the U.S.).
I own the DVD which I tend to watch infrequently even though I enjoy the movie immensely. But at the same time, my infrequent viewings may be a function of almost always watching the Aladdin stage show at Disney California Adventure which is famous for the Genie never giving the same performance twice in a row.
Now that said stage show has been officially canceled and will be replaced by Frozen, I may be revisiting this movie more often now.

Double post. A very happy 23rd Anniversary to Aladdin!!!!! The buddy comedy musical film that also began a vast new collection of Disney stories diving into many new cultures and diverse characterizations. "No matter what anybody says. You'll always be a prince to me."
