Oooh what happened at the end? Well from what my BFF told me, you know how Frollo threatends Esmeralda the stake but Quasi comes to the rescue? Well in the book there is no Quasi to the rescue. Esmeralda is burned at the stake and killed and Quasimodo gets so upset that he kills himself to be with her, and she said the very end mentioned Esmeralda's skeleton sitting next to a hunched over skeleton in some dungeon or something. Edit: my sincere apologies, I remembered this time!!! ;D but the spoiler tag does not seem to be functioning at the moment.

Sorry everyone for the hassel I caused. But when I did my post I was in a rush and I've going through a frazzeled and emotionally crazy time! I think until I can get my priorities straight, I'll let someone else handle any spoilers. Terribly sorry for that inconvience!

Some of the similarities are uncanny but this isn't my favorite version of the story. I'll never forget a television-made film and just how profound it was. I think it captured the essance of the Novel and Victor Hugo would have been proud. But I won't start comparing it to the Disney rendition because that's unfair in so many ways. This film can stand on it's own. (In a sense)

True true.. Disney does get to much credit for movies that they havn't even made almost anything animated they get credit for.

Actually I don't remember any of the cast but I do know they're not famous. It's been years since I saw it but I can recall certain events that took place in the film like it was yesterday!

Must be a different one...Though the one I'm thinking of is from the mid-to-late 90's, before Hayek was very well known, I think.

I'll be sure to look into it. I like Selma Hayek as an actress. And I like to see new versions of my favorite stories. Do you know if it was before or after the Disney version was released?

I can't believe I haven't responded yet. This film is, in my opinion, the last of the great Disney full-length animated features. It had fantastic animation, great songs, wonderful character development, pretty good humor, and a fantastic storyline.
As for the sequel, it has a good plot, but I think they gave a bunch of 5 year old kids some crayons and said, "You draw pretty and we give you big prize." Yeah, that may be mean, but the animators really didn't have much talent. I couldn't even draw that well, but you wouldn't catch me doing it because I know I don't have talent. That's what these animators should have done.
As to the book, I'll just say that I don't recommend reading it. Hugo chases too many rabbits and gets off topic too much...at least for my taste.
