As most of you might already know my favourite Disney movie is The Little Mermaid. I love the whole storline. It allows me to belive that true love will over come anything. What are your thoughts on this movie? I used to love the movie when I was younger. I have it on tape and I used to watch it all the time, LOL! I haven't watched it for literally years though... Guess I just haven't had the time or something No, actually, I think the tape is a bit stuffed up, LOL! Hmm... it doesn't seem to be out on DVD anywhere, LOL... well it was in the UK, but has been deleted for some obscure reason. Hmmm... weird... oh well... Guess I'll just have to wait til it comes out in Australia I used to love Sebastian, he was my favourite character I loved his songs, hehe...

In my opinion this was the first of the Great 4, four of the Greatest Disney Classics released in consecutive years. The Little Mermaid Beauty and the Beast Aladdin The Lion King Pocahontas They all had that magic that we look for in a Disney Classic, a good story line good songs. Some with the power that can blow you from the face of the earth with the female vocalists.

Little Mermaid has been one of my favorite stories by Hans Christian Anderson, and is one of my favorite Disney movies. It's a fun, fun movie, something that appeals to that part of me that's always searching - for my career, for true love, searching for the sake of the search. And, by the way, one of the handsomest Disney princes! Ursula is a fun and wiley villainess, too. The songs are fab, too, both touching and funny.

Now this is where I differ from the rest of you guys The Little Mermaid is an ok Disney film, but not one of the best in my opinion, there are a lot of others out there that beat it by far What I do love though is the sequel, I really enjoy that a lot Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE the original as such, I think both Ursula and Sebastian are great characters in it, I just never rush to watch it in a hurry any more nowadays and haven't seen it again in years and don't think I will for another few years

I catched VH1's "I Love the 80's 3D" in which it covers "The Little Mermaid" from the 1989 episode. Pluto Region1 posted on the UD Forum has this one to say:
I was watching "I love the 80s 3-D" on VH1 and during one of the episodes it covers "The Little Mermaid" Disney release. I have never seen the movie. During the description of the movie, they showed scenes of the movie and then discuss the plot. At the end, two of the guests point out that during the wedding ceremony the Justice of the Peace has an errection. They do a close up pan of the guy's private area and it does indeed appear that the animators drew the Justice with a bulge in his pants.
If this has been previously discussed, forgive me. I just did a search before posting for the word and did not get any results. I was trying to find a non-offensive way of explaining what they were discussing but there really is no other way to explain this other than use the term "errection." I apologize if the offends anyone. I am just trying to find out why the heck Disney animators would do this? Do they often do little jokes like this in their feature films? It is pretty strange and I don't think VH1 would have made this up and plus they showed the offending footage. Has anyone else noticed this before? Maybe this is common knowledge.
Anybody seen it?

Like Mulan, I used to hate this movie. For personal reasons as well, but I am sure you guys can guess ((figure out my real name and then add 15 years of your friends razzing you)). But after I got older and matured a bit more, I didn't seem to mind. I mean, Ariel is so lucky... being able to swim through a whole ocean! This indeed IS the greatest Disney classic. Well, to me anyways.

Yeah, I watched that I Love the 80s episode and have seen this type of thing before. I was on www.snopes.com (an urban legend site) and came across THIS article. To sum up: The minister isn't...overly excited. Those are his knees in profile - yeah, just go check out the article - there are pictures
