According to the Wikipedia page. Tomorrow , When the War Began. Isn't very well known to a worldwide audience. Such a shame as it sounds riveting.
On a scale of one to ten, how would rank it's violent and disturbing content?
I'd say the book is a lot more violent than the movie. I'd probably put it on a 7, mostly because of the plot and what's actually going on in the story. You don't get to see too much gore, but it's pretty much implied along the way.
Was there an intense controversial debate about the plot point when it was revealed that invaders are Asia's over populated countries sending their armies to eradicate Australia's citizens?
I don't recall the race actually being revealed in either the book or the movie. There's a quote that goes along the lines of "Who cares what they are? They're here" which I think is very powerful. It doesn't matter who they are or where they're from, they're invaders. Maybe the actors who portrayed them were of Asian descent? I'm really not sure where it was revealed.
I love Dawn French, especially with Jennifer Saunders. Wanda Sykes is hilarious. Alan Carr is also hilarious. I don't know if you can count them as comedians, but I enjoy Adam Sandler's and Eddie Murphy's comedy movies.
I just read the summery on Wikipedia again. I swear I had read it once before they adressed the invaders were of asian descent. Hmm?
I would not have asked if it didn't specify. Awkword moment on my part. :/
Any other good books you recommend I attempt to find in which the setting happens to be in Australia or New Zealand?
I'm still unsure if it did or not, lol. It didn't in the movie, but I'm not sure about the book. I read it in high school, lol.
There is one, but it is in the horror genre. But I absolutely love it. However, it's very cultural and I don't know how it would be received by people who aren't familiar with the culture. It's one of my favorite books, though. Written by a New Zealand author as well :]
Nope, but I'm not surprised. He has a pretty good singing voice Really good with the Mo-town genre :]
Well... I thought he was fabulous with his 80's pop start album... But apparently no one else did. Lol!!
What have you been up to latley?
Work pretty much, lol. We have a lot of unreliable staff LOL so I usually get three days rostered off, but cover shifts on at least two of those days. It's been good keeping busy, but it's not so good when I can't come online and just unwind. Still, I love how busy I am compared to what I was like this time last year
