This movie is being released December 21st, 2018 with Emily Blunt in the title role. I'm excited to see what she does with it, even though no one will ever replace Julie Andrews!

I'm against this for a couple of reasons.
From what we have to go off of so far, I don't feel this actress is the right casting choice for this role.
Just her face doesn't do Julie Andrews justice, it has more of a youthfulness that doesn't capture the sophistication and confidence of the character and gives more of a sinister to the stern expression and posture.
More importantly, I feel this is disrespectful to original Mary Poppins novel series author Pamela Travers who detested the original film and swore to never again sell the film rights to her novels.
This is akin to desecrating her grave and she's probably turning in it.

The trailer itself doesn't give away much. I won't pass judgment on this until the official trailer is released. I didn't like the idea of a new Winnie the Pooh movie either until I saw the official trailer too. I'm sort of excited to see a new movie. I like Emily Blunt a lot.

I’ve actually never even seen the original, so I doubt I’ll check this one out. ^^’’ Never really got this film. I know some of the songs though just from commercials about it. XD

So I loved the original Mary Poppins. I can’t wait to see an official trailer for this so I can judge this more. Emily Blunt is a great actress... so I’ll try not to pass doubt until I see more.
