With the finacial success of Guardians of the Galaxy making headlines. I figure it would be as good a time as any to create a thread for this film.
For those who don't follow along with superhero comic book to film adaptaions. This is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic film universe. For those who don't wish to catch all of these. You can simply start with 2012's The Avengers. (Or The Avengers Assmbled as it's titled in some countries) An easy way to start from scratch.
The basic premise of this sequel is "With SHIELD (Supreme Headquarters, International Espinonage, Law-Inforcement Division) destroyed and all of the Avengers needing a break from stopping supernatural/inside job threats. Tony Stark (Ironman) decides to create Ultron. A self-aware, self-teaching, artificial inteilligence who can assess threats and control Stark's Iron Leigon. However this goes awry when Ultron decides it's humans who are the enemy. Then sets out to erradicate them."
And this is just one chapter of the battle yet to come. An ever more sinister force is about to be unleashed
The cast features Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlet Johnasson, Jeremy Renner, James Spader, Chris Hemsworth, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smolders, Don Cheadle, Haley Atwell and an appearence by Samuel L.Jackson.
The film is directed and written by Joss Whedon (co-director of Toy Story)
So anybody up for this next summer?

Here is the officil trailer for this film. www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmeOjFno6DoI personally love this dark atmosphere editing. Now I really am concerned for not only the civilians. Our heroes have to battle their own demons as well as an external threat. I'm fired up for this! (Pun not intended)

I LOVED the trailer. We all know there will be humourous, light moments but this teaser trailer makes it clear that our heroes are facing something bigger than ever before! It left me with of feeling of "how re they going to do this?" "CAN they do this without losing one of their own?" and "WHAT IS GOING ON WITH BRUCE" It gives away very little, which is great for the imagination and i'm dying to know more!

I presume this film will be PG-13. So how come I'm incrdibly nervous when watching the trailer video and it reaches the 1:01 brief scene?
Granted it could be I have a phobia of sharp objects.
I certainly hope that sequece leaves more to the imagination then what it's letting on. I expect comic book violence from Marvel. But not "that".I really don't need to have the willies when I view this.

Double post The Second official trailer of this film has been released. Bottom line for this film. Don't under-estimate how easy it is to loose all you hold dear. The world being taken over by artificial intelligence is only scratching the surface. We'll be seeing each of the Avengers at their most vulnerable. Now that's the real reason I want to catch this film on the big screen. Explosions, car chases, computer graphics are a dime dozen for films in this day and age. A big budget film with substance is worth spending money on. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZoO8QVMxkk

I totally agree! I love marvel films because they are so character driven!Every character has their flaws and vulnerabilities despite being the heroes they are. I am loving the trailers so far, they're feeding my imagination as a fan while not spoiling too much. My enthusiasm continues to grow for this film, even when I don't think I could be anticipating it anymore

Loved the first one. And I think a big reason it worked so well is that it was directed by Joss Whedon. Anyone know who's directing the sequel?
