Is about time we started a new topic of conversation.
So... What are everybody's pet peeves? What grinds your gears? What irritates the fire out of you?
Love to hear!
Oh... One of my current ones is people's ring back tones. When you call someone and it plays music instead of ringing. I don't care if you like to "pop that" or whatever... Don't select me music to listen to. Rings are enough. Ring back tones are so 2000's. Lol

I hate ringback tones, too. I feel like I'm on hold with my cable company or something.
My pet peeve: When people touch my hair without my permission.

Oh I actually don't mind that one!!!
But I hate it when people use my ink pen. My personal pen is for my personal use only. Lol!

Thought of another one: When I'm on the interstate and in the right hand lane and doing the speed limit, and the jerk behind me still gets on my back bumper, even though there's no one in the left lane and they've got plenty of room to go around me. Extra annoying when it's at night and they start flashing their high-beams at me.
.................Why? Just......why?

Stupid drivers. When they do that to me, I usually drop down to less than the speedlimit so that they get pissed and pass me.
I have break checked someone before... Lol... But I try not to make a habit of it.
Speaking of cars. I hate it when people are driving at night and don't have the common curtesy to switch their high beams to low when they pass someone. The switch is 3 seconds from your finger. Come on, people!
Or when people don't use their turn signals! lol!

People who bring wayyyyy more than the limit in express lanes. A long time ago when I worked for Walmart, I was the cashier that occasionally got assigned to one of those registers. If you ever thought it was bad having to wait behind those people, imagine being the one that had to ring them up.

Speaking of Walmart... When you go and they are slammed packed... Have all those registers... And only 2 are open. Ugh!

Until about a year ago, I worked at a grocery store in a seaside resort town.

lol, I was actually speaking from the perspective of a former cashier. Until about a year ago, I worked at a grocery store in a seaside resort town. Oooh, then you understand the pain. And then everyone in line behind them is glaring at you, but you can't really turn that person away either because that's bad customer service and management will yell at you if you do. Something else from the perspective of the cashier here. Being one of the only two or three cashiers on a register when that happens. The issue behind that though is because the store might have a bunch of cashiers on the payroll, but when something happens and it gets really busy they either don't have enough of them scheduled to work or a bunch of them will call in at the same time if they are.

At my old store, we were allowed to tell customers that this was an express line if it was obvious they had way, way over the limit. It was nice Another pet peeve: why are people always smirking in fanfics? You could play a drinking game with it. Take a sip if a character smirks, take two sips if smirking isn't approppiate to the situation, take a shot if it's out of character.

I think the smirking thing more or less boils down to the authors not having a thesaurus on hand while they're writing. But then that only accounts for everything but the out of character thing. When it's out of character, there's really no excuse.

I've been told my biggest pet peeve is silly. I'll let you be the judge.
When people say "It's just a dog" or "It's just a cat" or "It's just a *insert animal here". For reasons I'll try not to go too deeply into that really bugs me and on occasion makes me downright mad. I believe this intense dislike spawned from a time back when I was around ten years old and my kitten died and someone told me rather coldly, "It's just a cat," and for better or worse that stuck with me.

No, I'm with you Alice. To me and my family, our animals are family. They are little furry peoples!
